2012 so far!

2012 has been very good to us so far! These are a couple of things that Ty and I have been up to:

BYU basketball games. This night we went to Zupas for dinner, saw We Bought a Zoo, then got Yogurtland for dessert.

Mozy sales kickoff. Nikki Stone, Olympic Gold aerialist came and spoke to us when we went up to Park City one day to the Olympic Park. She was so motivating! She injured her back really badly and 10 different doctors told her she would never ski again. She worked extremely hard, and ended up with the gold medal!

The Olympic Park had a museum of the different medals and uniforms worn in the 2002 Olympics

Right outside our window where we had our meetings all day were ski jumps that kids were practicing on. One little kid fell really, really hard on one jump and the paramedics had to come and ski him out.

During our break, some of us walked to the luge. We almost took a spin ourselves ;)

That night, Mozy took us to a fun bowling alley in Park City called Jupiter Bowl. The food was incredible and the bowling was fun!

We got so tired at the end of the night! We had to meet at at Mozy to take buses to park City at 7 am and didn't get home until midnight!

The next day Mozy paid for us to go skiing. A lot of people didn't take advantage of this, but I sure did! The snow wasn't the greatest at the time, but I still had a really fun time. I went with my co-worker Traci who is a really good skier and I hadn't been for 2 years. This was my 5th time skiing ever! We went down a few scary hills, but I did well and got more comfortable as the day went on!

After skiing, I came home and took a mini nap by the fire because I was so exhausted, then we went to dinner at Brio for Rachel's birthday. It was delicious! We did a little shopping at J. Crew right afterward then went to the car show.

The next day (after sleeping for probably 15 hours...no, I'm not joking, that's how worn out I was from kick off!), we had dinner at Kim and Dave's house then went to the Lehi Trafalga. We did mini-golf, laser tag, rock climbing, and this hilarious ride that is meant for kids but was so much fun! It basically bounces you up and down, and Tyler didn't go on it because he gets motion sickness, but it was so much more exciting than it looked and Kim, Dave and I were laughing so hard! Last Friday night we went to the temple with the Parcells, then had dinner at Outback. On Saturday, I cleaned the house and went to the gym, we went to my dad's house for a fun lunch of spaghetti and played pool, then went to dinner at Olive Garden with Marc and Courtney then to the Orem Trafalga! Afterward we went back to their house and played a fun card game. I think it's call Crazy Six's or something like that.

I went to Texas Roadhouse with my mom and Jocelyn for lunch on Martin Luther King Day because I had the day off of work. My mom and I went shopping afterward, and Jocelyn had to go to work.

Tyler, my mom and I went to visit my grandpa in the hospital on Monday night. He has prostate cancer and had surgery :( I bought him a "lucky" bamboo plant and his favorite - dark chocolate. We went down to the cafeteria and Tyler bought his absolute favorite treat, a chocolate on chocolate Dunford doughnut and some Coke. Really healthy ;) On my way to the hospital it was so snowy and rainy that a car completely flipped over in the intersection. I think the people were okay but it was scary to see! That night we also went over to Kim and Curtis' house to watch the Bachelor and eat my weight in kettle corn.

On Tuesday night I went to get dessert with Kim and Kirsten at the Chocolate. We got a cakookie and spiced hot chocolate. It was fun to catch up with Kirsten because we hadn't seen her in a long time. Her boyfriend met us there and it turns out he asked me out over four years ago when I was dating Tyler at the time so I said no. I knew he looked familiar! They are really cute together! Last night I went to the chiropractor, then went to Olive Garden for dinner with my mom and Katelyn. We got ice cream at Coldstone afterward and it was delish!

Tonight I had my first presidency with the new primary presidency. I got called to be the 1st counselor. Wish me luck!

New Year's Eve

On New Year's eve, Tyler and I went to the BYU basketball game then met Courtney and Marc for dinner at Tepanyaki for Marc's birthday. Tyler and I got filet mignon and shrimp and it was SO good. Afterward, we went to visit my grandpa to give him his birthday chocolates and talked to my mom and grandparents. After that, we went to M & C's for yummy snack, the Newlywed game, and tooting our horns and dancing around outside at midnight, followed by our annual toast of sparking cider. Here's to 2012 being the best year yet!

Christmas!

Christmas was delightful this year. On Christmas Eve we went to the Parcells at 3:30 for siblings present exchange and stories from Walt and Carol, then over to my grandma's for a delicious dinner and gingerbread houses. All of my cousins and aunts and uncles were there and we had our traditional ham and cheese melted sandwiches. The next morning, Ty and I woke up at our house then visited his parent's house for breakfast, went to my grandma's house for presents with my family and a movie, then back to Ty's parents and then drove up to Heber to visit his grandma.

We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends to share this holiday season with.

The month of December!

Tyler and I were so busy having fun in December that I am just getting around to have time to documenting it all!

This is what we have been up to:

- Light of the World in Salt Lake with the Parcells which set the tone for the season, then we got Yogurtland afterward.
- A Christmas Carol at the Hale Center Theater on the 12th with the Parcells. It was a really fun play. During intermission we got hot wassail and afterward we had chicken tacos for dinner at their house.
- For Jocelyn's birthday we went to Ruby River for lunch
- Work party at Noah's where we ate dinner and had Comedy Sports perform
- Sales Christmas party at Rib City where we had a white elephant exchange. You have to keep whatever you get for your white elephant gift at your desk all year. Last year I got a baby doll, and this year I got a stocking. It's always really fun :)
- Movies galore! We saw Mission Impossible 4, War Horse, and Sherlock Holmes
- Cookie exchange party at my friend Amy's house. Everyone brought a different type of cookie to exchange, then we had a gift exchange of your favorite thing. I brought OPI nail polish, then we had snacks and cookies. It was really fun, and a great idea!
- Tyler's Christmas work party. We went bowling at Fat Cats and had dinner at Costa Vida
- Spontaneous shopping night with my mom in Salt Lake and then dinner at Pei Wei
- Temple night with the Parcells then dinner at Milagros afterward
- My first night at my new Bunco group. It's so much fun to meet new friends and socialize, and eat yummy food
- Oakley had her baby girl, Scarlett! I went to the hospital to visit her the day after she was born. Darling babe!

DISNEYLAND!!!

We went to Disneyland for Thanksgiving with my family and it was an absolute blast. I am such a kid at heart and I loved every single second of it! We left on Tuesday after I got off work, and drove straight through to this cute hotel right by the park. The next morning we woke up, ate breakfast at the hotel, then went to Disneyland!

We were all skipping with joy as we entered the park :)

We loved all of the Christmas decorations! They also switched the Haunted Mansion to be Nightmare Before Christmas themed. I caught Ty mid-yawn outside the mansion.

This is a picture of everyone on Splash Mountain! We didn't want to get wet so we put our hoodies on!

My favorite Disney movie when I was little was Winnie the Pooh. We rode in honey combs.

It's a Small World was lit up with Christmas lights! We were there when they lit them for the night. It was so cute! They also changed the whole ride to be Christmas themed.

That night, we went back to our hotel and got pizza. We were worn out from the day, and the pizza tasted so good!

The next morning we woke up, had breakfast, then headed out for another fun-filled day!

On this night, we went to the California Adventure "World of Color" show. It was AMAZING. We went early in the morning when we got to Disneyland to get Fast Passes for the show so we had front row seats to it. It's a show with water, music and images playing off the water sprays. See the next post for pictures.

We went to Tony Roma's for Thanksgiving dinner that night. The ribs were yummy and then we got hot chocolate to warm us up at Mickey D's before taking a nap at our hotel.

After we went on like 5 more rides after the World of Color, we went back to our hotel and went to bed. The next day we went to the beach and shopping at Fashion Island. We at ate Wahoo's Fish Tacos then drove to Vegas. We walked the strip and then slept at Tyler's Aunt Kathy's house.

The next day, we went to the Rio's world famous buffet. We got there and realized it was even more expensive than we thought it would be. Total for Tyler and I it was about $70. My mom thought it would be fun, though, so we did it. My mom found out that if we got player's cards at the hotel casino, we would get a few dollars off our buffet so Tyler and my mom got those cards. With them, they also got $5 free to gamble. We ate at the buffet and it delicious! They had tepanyaki, sushi, yummy desserts, crab legs, and pretty much anything you can imagine to eat. I felt like we totally splurged going to the buffet because it was super expensive. On our way out, Tyler took the $5 player's card money to gamble. I was thinking how awesome it would be to win our money back. Well, HE DID! He just played on one of the slot machines. When he pulled the handle and we heard, "ding ding ding!" we were wonderfing how much we had won. EIGHTY DOLLARS! Ha ha we still can't believe it! We had free lunch!

That night, my mom and sisters left and we hung out on the strip with Tyler's sister Lindsay and her boyfriend Rob. We went to M&M World and Ty and I saw a movie while they went to this comedy show they had tickets to. After, we met back up with them and Ty's parents (they were in Vegas for Thanksgiving) and other sister Katelin for frozen custard at LuvIt Custard.

We had SUCH A BLAST! I loved getting out of town and spending time with my family.

Splash Mountain - trying not to get wet!

This is my favorite picture that we took I think. Look at Tyler!!! He gets sick on rides sometimes, and he doesn't look too happy about Space Mountain! The best part is that he looks like he is going to die, and then right behind him I am having the time of my life. We died laughing when we saw this!

Above is the Hollywood Hotel ride. We went on it twice! It's so fun because it's creepy and so fun when you drop down the "elevator shaft." Jocelyn's face on the top left is so funny. She was so scared and was screaming even before the ride started!

The World of Color pictures are below. It was so amazing! They had Disney music playing, and they would also spray water across so they could project images of Disney characters and parts of Disney movies. We loved it!

The last couple o' weeks

I love the weekends. These last two have been lovely.
Last weekend after work, Ty and I bought some hooks to hang our Christmas lights up at Home Depot, then bought a few things at the Provo mall. We got a warm hat for me and also some of that yummy smoky cheese from Pepperidge Farm. It all felt very Christmasy :) We then went to Mountain West Burrito with Marc and Courtney then went to their house to play Ticket to Ride and watched a movie.

The next day, Tyler and I decorated our house with Christmas lights! We wanted to do it before it gets freezing cold. That night we went to Texas Roadhouse with his parents, Sadie and Craig's reception, and then the BYU football game

They had make your own s'mores at their reception and I thought it was so cute!

This weekend, we went to dinner with Oakley and Scott at Shoga on Friday night. Jocelyn was our server. We then went to see Twlight, Breaking Dawn at University Mall.

The next morning, T and I slept in, then I made German pancakes.

Yummo! We then cleaned out his closet and we have 4 bags of clothes to give to D.I. Our closet looks great now!

We went to dinner with Curtis and Kim, and Jocelyn and her date Nate at Goodwood. It was so delicious and we had the largest onion rings on the planet. Great company too.
After dinner, Ty and I met up with his parents to go to the BYU football game. It was cold, but that didn't bother me one bit. Why, you ask? Because I had:
- Two pairs of socks
- North Face snow boots
- 2 pairs of sweat pants
- Snow pants
- A sweater
- A sweatshirt
- A jacket
- A large black, thick coat
- Mittens
-Warm, toast hat
-A large blanket
-Hot chocolate

I could have slept outside in the 37 degree weather all night!

Tonight we had Thanksgiving dinner at my Grandma's house and it was delicious! Mmm. I made little Tootsie roll turkeys, a cheese ball and pretzel raspberry jello salad. We had a honey baked ham, butterflake rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, yams, stuffing, veggies, salad, crackers and cheese, and olives. And of course pumpkin pie for dessert. Oh man, it was good!

My aunt Michelle makes homemade whipped cream, and she was trying to spray it out of her special bottle and it sprayed all over the kitchen, all over my grandpa's back and pants and all over the people in the kitchen! It was so funny. We had such a good time. I love my family.

Weekend Fun

After work on Friday, I met up with my mom and sisters and we did a little shopping. After T got off work, he stopped by at Cafe Rio and picked us up dinner. By that time, my cold was getting the best of me and I was going downhill, so we decided to stay in and watch a movie. We went to Redbox and rented Hanna.
It was cold so T got out while I stayed in the car. The Maverik near our house gets visited by some rather unsavory characters. I locked the doors while he stood in line to get the movie.
Paranoid? Yep. Too paranoid? Probably.
Right before Ty got back in the car, a woman dropped her tobacco chew and it rolled under our car. Ty said we could move the car so we could get it. She said, "no thanks" and had her 5-year-old daughter scramble around to get it.
Ty said, "now you have your chew!" in a nice, happy voice after the daughter got it. Awkward.

The next day, I cleaned the house and Ty went to work for a bit, then I ran some errands with my mom. After getting in our car after we left Hobby Lobby (I got some cute stockings, stocking hangers, and wrapping paper), we were about to pull out and my mom said, "Is that Tyler?!!"
We stared at each with confused faces until I could grasp that Ty had just pulled up to Hobby Lobby. :) He was there getting materials to finish up his killer pine wood derby car.

That night, Kim Taylor and I popped into our ward party for a half hour. It was a soup competition so we sampled some delish soup. Ty went over to start the LSU vs. Alabama game with Dave. We ran into Curtis and Kim at the party and all finished up the game together afterward.
The girls painted their nails and we all ate a lot of sour watermelon gummies. Yum!
Curtis was sitting on the couch with the bad angle to the TV, so I said he should sit in the middle of Dave and Ty. I told him it would be a Curtis sandwich. So he did.
He specifically asked that I not post this picture on my blog.

Sorry, Curtis. Some things are too good to keep to myself.

Halloween Night - M&C's party

Halloween started out with me putting on my gold cowgirl boots, ivory and snakeskin belt, and plaid shirt with my hair in pigtail braids and a cowboy hat to wear to work :) After I got off work, I went home to make Zupa Toscana soup and grab my pumpkin bread that I made the night before.

Marc and Court's party was really fun like always! We ate and played some awesome games.

Pumpkin Carving

On Thursday night, we had dinner then carved pumpkins with my family. The dinner was DELISH! We had pizza and salad. The salad is made with lettuce, green onion, almond slivers, and sunflower seeds, then topped with a dressing of red wine vinegar and sugar with pepper. It is seriously yummy.

My pictures aren't that high quality because I took them with my phone, so I vowed to myself that I would bring my camera with me more often :)

We roasted the pumpkin seeds afterward. We also had a taste of pumpkin ice cream that I bought at the store because I couldn't resist.

I love nights with my family!

Halloweeny Weekend Fun

This weekend was a blast! We went to Lagoon with Kim and Dave on Friday after work. They have Frightmares going on right now so it was fun to see the scaryness while walking around :)

T and I got a carameled apple and it was yum. We rode lots and lots of roller coasters and it was fun!

On Saturday we went to the BYU football game, then afterward we went to the Blue Lemon to eat my mom, Katelyn and her date. We then went to Hee Haw farms and it was SO much fun! They had kettle corn, mini donuts, farm animals, a giant slide, and pumpkins galore. We took a hay ride to the haunted walk through and it was seriously scary! They don't cram you in there like most haunted houses, so they let all five of us in at once. It goes through a scary white building and also through the woods. We loved it!

Sundance fall colors

Last Sunday, Tyler and I took a drive up the Provo Canyon where the fall colors are GORGEOUS. We went up to Sundance and walked around. It was so nice and peaceful. I think fall is my favorite time of year. Crisp, chill air, spicy apple cider, and beautiful leaves changing colors.

Last Friday night, T and I went with his family to Outback Steakhouse for his dad's birthday, then we went to see Footloose. Afterward, we got dessert at the Sweet Tooth Fairy. Pictured above is T eating his red velvet cupshake :)

On Saturday, I went to Oakley's baby shower for baby Scarlet and it was so much fun. She got some darling outfits. I rode up with Chelsea, Amanda and Ashley and then stayed afterward because Tyler came up and we went to In-n-Out with Oak and Scott and some friends and also played game afterward at their house.
I made this yummy baked ziti last Monday! Mmm delish...we went to Courtney's baby blessing a couple weeks ago and we went to their house for lunch afterward and they served this.

The Pumpkin Patch!

A couple weekends ago we went to the pumpkin patch with my family! My mom's cousin Richard owns land that he leases to farmers, and gets to take his family to the pumpkin patch each year. We seriously had so much fun. I LOVE the fall! We got to pick our own pumpkins, feed the buffalo, look at all of the wild animals, eat yummy roasted hot dogs with all the fixins', and look through Richard's collection of antique tractors!

Bike rides

Before the fall chill set in, I got back in saddle and went on four bike rides. The longest was 24 miles last weekend all the way past Vivian Park in Provo canyon to South Fork up to the girl's camp. It was SO hard, but so beautiful!

I went on a bike ride with Jocelyn a couple days before and we went up to Big Bend Park past Vivian Park up South Fork. One thing I love about Utah is the gorgeous scenery on these bike rides!

BYU home games

We saw Jimmer on the field and Tyler thought it would be funny to sneak up behind him :)
We got to go on the field for the fourth quarter at one of the football games a couple weeks ago because Tyler's company advertises with BYU Football. It was a lot of fun!

This is the game against Utah State that we won last minute thanks to Riley Nelson. We love going to the games!

House update

I added lemons to the trees in my kitchen. I love lemons and I think they are fresh and put me in a good mood!

I have been working on my guest bedroom and this is a peak of the cute knobs I put on the drawers in there. I also refinished the bed my mom gave me so I'll post pics of it when the whole room is finished.

Okay not really. I have gotten "back in the saddle" as they say. But it has taken a month!

It all started out on a beautiful Saturday morning (Labor day weekend to be precise) and Jenica was excited for a three day weekend to spend enjoying with her husband. They woke up and were ready for their bike ride up to Hobble Creek canyon. Tyler's dad brought their bikes from his house in his truck. They keep their bikes there so they can easily get to Provo canyon. They took off with high hopes for a lovely bike ride that they had never done before.

After the first half mile, Tyler's dad got a flat tire so we stopped to fix it. A few miles later when we got to Springville, my bike's chain (which was actually Katelin's that I had to ride because my bike's back wheel was mysteriously bent) came off and the peddle nailed me in the shin. Little did I know, that would be the least of my worries come an hour later. After riding on the bumpy streets we finally got to Hobble Creek canyon and rode up past the golf course as far as we could go. In the meantime, Tyler's dad got another flat tire. We waited for him to fix it....then it popped...again. So, after fixing it for the third time (luckily he had Tyler's and Drew's, T's brother, spares) we headed back down. Tyler and Drew took off with me after them. Tyler's dad passed me and Rachel (sister-in-law) and and Carol (mother-in-law) were a bit behind me.

After I got out of Springville, I decided to turn into a neighborhood to take the back route home so I wouldn't have to be on the busy street. As I turned onto a street, my bike suddenly slipped on some gravel and I went sliding onto the road. I was shaken up and picked myself up and fell onto the grass. I managed to get my my phone out of my arm band and called Tyler to come pick me up. In the meantime, two cars stopped to help me. One with a grandpa and his grandson, and one with a doctor and her husband. They helped clean me up until Tyler could come get me. He put my bike in the truck and then we went back to Rachel and Drew's house where they made me a protein shake. After I got over being extremely nauseous from the shock, Tyler drove me to InstaCare. We waited in the lounge for a while with blood dripping down my arm, then I finally got in and the nurse numbed up my wounds and scrubbed them out. She wrapped them with bandages, but one thing that worried me is that she said to the doctor that "there was no way she could get all of the gravel out of my arm." Huh? Scrub it out! lol so we dropped by at Cafe Rio on the way home and then I took a nap. After I woke up, Ty helped me shower and mom brought over a movie and helped me wrap myself up again. She also brought me some Lortab which I was SO grateful for the next day because my arm hurt a lot.

On Sunday, I stayed home from church and I was feeling really sore and I couldn't use my right arm. Rachel and Drew were nice enough to make breakfast for us. Unfortunately, I didn't take pain meds soon enough and the pain was out of control in my arm, so finally after an hour after taking another Lortab the pain subsided. I was able to take a nap. Later on, we went to Tyler's parents house for dinner, then stopped by at my Grandma's on the way home. The next day I woke up and I was feeling a little better, so Tyler and I went to Ruby River to eat with my mom and sisters and then I went up to Park City with Jocelyn and my mom because Tyler had to stay home to sell his car. We had a good time :)

A couple days later, my arm really started to hurt and got looking really nasty. I made an appt. with Dr. Jackson to x-ray my arm and found out that there weren't any fractures, but he could gravel embedded into my arm. He is an orthopedic surgeon so he doesn't normally work with open wounds in his office so he didn't have any anesthetic...so he laid me down on a table and started scrubbing away! Whew it hurt! But even after an hour it started feeling better because all of the infection was out.
I started taking antibiotics and after one month and two days, I'm feeling much better. I even went on four bike rides last week, although I have been VERY cautious, especially when going around turns. This whole experience has made me so grateful for my healthy body. It was so hard getting ready in the morning or at night when I couldn't bend my right arm and I could only use my left hand fingertips. I now have a LOT more sympathy for people who are injured too. I'm going to be so careful on my bike whenever I ride because I know how easy it can be to fall!

Cougar Football

On Friday, we went to dinner with Oakley and Scott, and Brandon and Amanda then came back to our house and played this fun marbles game and then danced around our living room :) Last Saturday, Tyler and I went to the BYU football game vs. Utah. He did a tailgate party for Advance Insurance beforehand and Rachel and I came on my scooter right before the game started. The game was HORRIBLE!!! The cougars seriously let everyone down. Hopefully they can pull it together for tomorrow's game!

I went to my sister's best friend's bridal shower yesterday then met up with my mom and Katelyn at Red Lobster. Katelyn loves their shrimp and smoothies!
Tyler and I went up to Park City with his family to celebrate Katelyn's birthday. We visited the outlets, did the Alpine Slides then ate at the Mexican restaurant there at the ski resort.
We went to see Pirates of the Caribbean in 3D with my mom!

If you haven't been to Mountain West Burrito in Provo you MUST go. Get up, and go. Right now. You'll thank me later.

Oakley and I went to Sami Barker's bridal shower. It was beautiful! Congratulations Ben and Sami!

I took dinner to Courtney and Marc and held little Cannon. He is such a doll!

We went mini golfing with Oak and Scott. They have this awesome new course near their house in Daybreak!

I had an AMAZING weekend with my mom! Tyler went on a camping trip on Friday night with the Young Men in our ward, so my mom and I went shopping up in Sandy that night. After we closed the place down, we got dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. It is the awesome salad/soup/pasta bar and they had a million choices. After dinner (at like 10:30 pm) we went to get ice cream from Katelyn because she was working at Cold Stone. Yum! The next day I went to Sadie's shower, met Kate and my mom at Red Lobster, then we went shopping again :) Ty got home last night so we went to see Super 8 at the dollar theater. Earlier this week, we got back from our second trip to Lake Powell on Tuesday night then on Wednesday night we had date night at Tepanyaki. YUM! After we stopped by at Chuck E Cheese for my niece Paisley's 4th birthday. On Thursday night we went up to Salt Lake for our friend Casey's birthday. We went with Casey and Ashley, and met Oakley and Scott, Mason and Ashley Shmutz, and Dale and Chelsea Olenik up at Thaiphoon. It was fun!

Annie and Ben's Wedding

My cousin Annie got married to her love, Ben, last month and it was beautiful wedding! The wedding dinner was at Magleby's and the food they served was to die for. They got married in the Timpanogos Temple and Annie looked GORGEOUS! She had her dress custom made and it fit her like a glove. Since it was a reunion year we kind of made it a reunion/wedding weekend and I got to see most of my cousins which was great. I have the best family! On the night of the wedding they had a reception in the backyard of the Gedicks' home. Instead of a cake, they served Cold Stone ice cream which I thought was a cute twist. Congratulations to them!

Lake Powell

We went to Lake Powell with Tyler's family and Lindsay brought a bunch of her friends too (including my sister) and we had a blast. A few of us left after work on Friday night and got there on Friday at about 1:30 am. Tyler and Drew pulled out the houseboat on Saturday and we found a great sandy beach to park. Everyone else got there on Sunday night. We swam, Ty and I went on a jet ski adventure and climbed up a big sandy hill, we built a fire and made s'mores one night, played games, went to Rainbow Bridge and got ice cream at Dangling Rope Marina and ran into a storm on the way back, surfed, read, tanned, went on hike, did weenie wars and all around had a fun time. Lake Powell is one of my favorite vacations.

T and I had a fabulous 4th of July. I woke up and went on a run then we went golfing with some of family. After that, we went to have a BBQ at my grandma's house with all of the family and then did fireworks. We ended the night by visiting Katelyn at her work, Coldstone. It was an all around great day.

This weekend has been so much fun so far! I started out the weekend by getting off work early and going shopping with my mom and Jocelyn. My mom got some cute sandals! We then went to build a fire and do tin foil dinners with Marc and Court, Kelsey and Devon and Dane and Elizabeth. I saw my friend Kristi at the store when I was getting the food to make tin foil dinners and she told me to put in Lipton Onion Soup mix, so I did and it flavored it really well. Yum! We also made peach cobbler in the dutch oven and that was delish as usual.

Courtney is pregnant and so she marked her tin foil dinner by labeling it "balloon belly." I thought it was funny so I had to take a picture!
The next day, Tyler and I woke up and cleaned the house and washed our cars. We then got Subway and drove up past Sundance to have a picnic then hike up to Stewart Falls. The summer weather in Utah is GORGEOUS! It smelled like pine trees up there too which is my all-time favorite smell. Mmm.

When we got to the falls it was really misty. Tyler wore his swim suit on our hike because he thought he was going to get in the water, but when we got there there was tons of snow piled up at the base of the waterfall! Even in 90 degree plus weather it hadn't melted yet because we got summer so late this year.

It was such a gorgeous hike and I'm so glad we ventured up there to do it! We went swimming to cool off afterward at his parent's neighborhood pool, then got Cafe Rio for dinner and headed home to get ready for the Stadium of Fire.

The Stadium of Fire was so awesome this year! In previous years I feel like there has been some unnecessary "fluff" but this year everything they did was enjoyable. They had para gliders get dropped from an airplane onto the field and after David Archuleta sang they had my favorite part where the four jets zoom by above the stadium. It is so amazing! I always get so touched when they talk about America and our freedom because I feel so blessed to live in America. It is the best country in the world and we have the best life because we get to live here.
Brad Paisley was the main performer and he was so good! I knew all of his songs and his voice was amazing live. Then the fireworks were beautiful! My favorite are the gold ones that twinkle down for a long time. Tyler and I rode our scooter to Maverik by our house afterward and got a movie at Redbox (it's new there!) and I discovered delicious mango peach frozen yogurt there. I might just have to take some summer walks down to Maverik to get a cone every now and then!

This weekend has been perfect so far!

Courtney's Baby Shower!

I had a baby shower for my BFF Courtney on Wednesday at my house and it was so much fun! We have been friends since 3rd grade and it is crazy that she is going to have her own baby boy soon. I made cupcakes and bought cookies and pretzels, and Jessica made yummy cookies and brought lemonade.

Jessica had everyone play a game where she gave everyone a sheet of paper with all the letters of the alphabet and she timed us so we had to come up with boy names that started with every letter. Whoever had the most unique names that were different than everyone else won. I borrowed some baby boy stuff from my friend Kayla across the street and I set it out as decoration (like a Bumbo, toy, jammies, bottle, diaper, etc.) then I took them away while no one noticed and had them try to remember what was there. Sydney, Court's sister, won and she got the prize of boxes of candy!

Courtney got lots of cute presents from her friends, like cute little outfits, toys and blankets. I got her a onesie for the first year of his life (0-3 mos, 3-6 mos, etc.)

Summer fun

The half laughing picture above is outside of the Provo temple on Saturday night. The grounds are beautiful right now with so many rose bushes! We went to dinner with his family at Outback afterward and it was delish! Earlier that day we went to Seven Peaks for the first time this year and rode some slides, went in the wave pool and and soaked up the sun. It was lovely.

On Monday night, Tyler and I went on a bike ride from his parent's house to Vivien Park which is about 16 miles. It was fun and great exercise!

On Sunday we had a BBQ at my grandma and grandpa's house and we made delicious kebabs, had strawberry limeade and patriot jello. Yum! Then for dessert my mom got a peanut butter pie.

On Friday night, we went to dinner at Smashburger with Casey and Ashley, Marc and Court, and Kim and Dave. Then afterward we went to play volleyball and swim. The pictures above are everyone showing off their championship volleyball skills. This past week, T and I hiked up to Y and didn't stop once the whole way up or down. My legs have been feeling it this week!!

Gorgeous pictures over Utah when my plane took off!
I went to Texas to visit my friends and had such a great time! I got there late Thursday night on the 16th and Ashley picked me up from the airport. I stayed with her, Bobby, and Wyatt and they were the best hosts! We got to her house and she took me into Wyatt's room so I could see her little babe for the first time. He was 3.5 months and he looked so tiny sleeping there! We caught up a bit then went to bed. The next morning we went over to Desiree's parent's house to swim. She came in from Houston with her two cute girls Claire and Chloe and Rebecca also came with her son. We had a fun little swim party. Des' mom made us pizza and fruit and veggies for lunch. After we ate, we went to get snow cones while Des' girls were taking their nap. Bedford Snoball is my number one favorite place in the world to get snow cones. The husband and wife that work there and own it know us all because we would go there ALL the time in high school. They make their own syrups and my favorite is white coconut. It is a sentimental thing for me because it takes me back to the good ol' days when the livin' was easy! We kept saying that we couldn't believe how old we are getting...all married and they have kids!

That night we went to Red Barn Bar-B-Que and it was delish! It's this adorable barn in Colleyville and you definitely know you are in Texas when you are there. Later that night Ash and I went shopping at Grapevine Mills Mall.

On Saturday we woke up and went shopping at Southlake Towne Square and had lunch at Corner Bakery. We then went swimming at the Hickson's house and relaxed in the pool. Later that night we went to dinner with Bobby at Posado's (yum yum Mexican food). Bobby then took Wyatt home so Ashley and I could go to a movie, however, she left the bottle in her car that he would have used to feed him so we had to drop it off at her mom's house and he had to come pick it up from there. Poor Wyatt was crying for a long time with Bobby because he was hungry, and after all that when we got to the movies we realized it was sold out! Woops! It was so funny, we just started laughing. So, naturally, we just went shopping again and got twinner striped shirts at Banana Republic and golf shirts for our dads for Father's Day. We stopped at Sonic on the way home to get Bobby a shake for being a good sport and watching the babe while we had some girl's time!

On Sunday we woke up and Ash made delicious french toast for breakfast. We lounged around and relaxed like we always do on Sunday and then later on we had a yummy burrito dinner. She made the best chicken burritos with delicious toppings which I have since tried to copy. We stopped by to get on snow cone on my way out (don't judge me...I'm only near Bedford Snoballs every couple of years!) and then we hung out at the Hickson's until I had to leave for the airport. It was SUCH A GREAT WEEKEND! I love my girlfriends. It's rare to find great friends. I mean really great friends, you know? So when I do, I hold onto them for life! Thanks for the awesome weekend!

The weekend we got back from Europe we went mini-golfing with Kim and Dave after eating Cafe Rio. YUM. Tyler and I got the Pass of All Passes this year which includes unlimited Trafalga visits and Seven Peaks season passes. We had a lot of fun! After golfing we went to Cold Stone. The next day Tyler and I cleaned our house and did TONS of laundry from our trip, then went to CPK for an early dinner. We then went to Trafalga again and rode the go-carts. We were the oldest ones there and I hit a kid that was probably 16 and spun him out so the worker had to come out and restart him, and Ty had a mom yell at him to tell him not to hit into her. Maybe we should go with people our own age next time? Ha ha :) After that we played a couple rounds of golf and I won! I got a 15 minute massage for my prize. I didn't claim it for a couple weeks and Tyler thought I forgot about it. No such luck, pal, I cashed in on that one! My feet felt great afterward. Anyway, after golfing we went to see a X Men. Drew and Rachel showed up at the same theater, same time, and said they had gone to CPK for dinner too. Funny! It was a good movie and a great weekend!

Dubrovnik, Croatia

The last day of our cruise we stopped in Dubrovnik, Croatia. It is an ancient walled city. We took a tour of the church and other buildings, then shopped around and got some gelato (of course).

Corfu, Greece

This place is stunningly gorgeous. Just imagine the most perfect little island surrounded by lush greenery and crystal water and you have Corfu.

We took a bus tour and stopped to get on little boats to view the caves and around the island.

The above picture is called the "Blue Eye" because the light coming from the other side of the rock makes it look like a blue eye!

After we got off our boat, we went to a church where people still worship today. It was very gaudy and decorated over the top with gold, etc.

After we left the church we got back onto the bus and went to the main town. I almost starting crying tears of joy when I saw McDonald's. The food on the ship, like I mentioned previously, was nasty. The funny thing is that I never eat at McDonald's in America, but I gobbled my cheeseburger and french fries down like they were going out of style. We shopped around town and then got back on ship. Corfu treated us well :)

Athens, Greece

This was a recent statue built for the most recent Olympics in Athens - I loved it! It is supposed to be a runner

Athens was our next destination. It has a HUGE population, so when we got off the ship went through the city in buses to the Parthenon. We toured around and saw the gorgeous architecture. I still can't believe how detailed and intricate the architecture is when it was built so many thousands of years ago. After our tour, we were dropped off in a shopping area and I bought a cute, little bowl for my sister Katelyn and we got some delicious gelato. I got cheesecake flavor and I was in love!

Mykonos, Greece

We went to Mykonos the same day that we went to Santorini. We got back on the ship at about 1 pm then arrived in Mykonos that evening. It is a beautiful coastal town that is known for its night life. We ate at a delicious restaurant called Ava's Restaurant and it was the best food that we had the whole trip. My favorite was the salmon. I will admit, I was scared to order it because I was a bit wary from the other food that we had eaten since we had been in Europe. I went the safe route and ordered the spaghetti, but I tried the salmon that Katelin ordered and I wish I had gotten that! After dinner, we walked around the city and Walt bought the girls pretty necklaces. I bought my mom a cute scarf. I was so tired that night and I collapsed in my bed when we got back to the ship!

Santorini, Greece

We woke up early in the morning and looked out of our balcony to see this....it was so beautiful!
We took a boat from the ship to Santorini and got onto a chairlift thing to go up to the top of the mountain where the city is. We then went to rent 4-wheelers and cruise around the island!

The views were absolutely breathtaking and the water was crystal clear

We stopped in Oia, Greece which is the picturesque city that you picture with the white buildings and blue tops that you picture when you think of Greece. It was so charming and quaint!

I couldn't get over how pretty it was!

We rode donkeys down the mountain afterward when we had to go back to the ship so we didn't have to walk so far. They were fun and this was one of my favorite places that we visited because it was so unbelievably beautiful!

Katakolon, Greece (aka Olympia!)

On day 6 we went to Olympia, Greece and it was AMAZING to be in a place so ancient where the Olympics originated. It felt surreal to imagine this place in it's glory with ceilings atop all of the large columns.

This is where the Olympians raced each other. They would down to the end then back...Tyler and I decided to test out a little race ourselves. It was funny because all of the tourists were running there and back, pretending like we were back in the original Olympic days!

There were several bases like the ones pictured above lining the path after the archway to Olympia. Back in the day, there were statues of Zeus, and at the base there were names of athletes who had cheated in their games and had been punished. These statues were reminders to all athletes to play fair.

Above is a place where the athletes prepared themselves for the games. Across from this building was a large bath house.

It's amazing to think that all of these bases had large columns on them at one point in time.

After we had our tour through Olympia, we went to a little town to shop around and tried a dessert they are famous for there. It was incredible to be there and picture what life would have been like thousands of years ago!

Bari, Italy

The next day we went to Bari, Italy and it was really neat. We saw lots of almond and olive trees. We went on an excursion to the old town called Alberobello and explored the little town. Our tour guide explained that many of the old people live in the small old homes with the domes and the younger people live in the modern big city. I bought some Italian pasta from a lady at a shop and she tried to short change me by 5 euros. I bet they make so much money off tourists, but not me lady!! We got some yummy cherries, and stopped to each some bruschetta with different tomato toppings. Don't worry, it only cost us $30. Rip off! Ha ha that's okay though, when you're in Italy you must experience Italy, right? It was a lovely day.

Tyler and I just got back from an amazing trip to Italy, Greece and Croatia! We had so much fun and saw so many great things. We went to a lot different cities and I have a ton of pictures so I'm going to make a different post for each city.

Our adventure began on Thursday, May 26th. We woke up bright and early and headed to the SLC airport. My mom taught me that you can park at one of the hotels nearby for really cheap so we went to the hotel first then got shuttled to the airport which saved us about $100 and it was really convenient as well. We checked in and got on the plane to JFK in New York. I wish we could have had more of a layover there since I've never been there but that will have to be a separate trip alone since there is so much to do there. We got off the plane, ate at Chili's, then boarded the plane to Venice! We had to wait for three hours in the plane before it took off. Our pilot told us after we took off that it was because of lightening storms. I slept and watched movies on Tyler's iPad most of the way there, and before I knew it we were putting our tray tables upright and landing in Venice! (I love airplane food by the way...we had chicken and a salad and also those yummy cookies...call me crazy!) When we got off the plane, we collected our baggage and met up with Auto Owners (the insurance company that took us) and got on a water taxi that shuttled us to our hotel, the Molino Stuckey Hilton. I kept thinking to myself, "I can't believe I'm in Italy!"

When we got to the hotel, we checked in then took a water taxi across the channel to explore a bit. We looked at the shops and had our first taste of Italian gelato. Yummo! That night after our suitcases were delivered we changed clothes and had our Auto Owner's welcome dinner. After dinner we explored the island we were on and ventured down to Elton John's Italian home. The next morning we went on a tour of Venice, specifically St. Mark's Square and I almost died at how amazing it was! My favorite part were the ceilings in the Doge's Palace. We weren't allowed to take pictures and my description won't do it justice. The ceilings were paintings, sculptures and unbelievable architecture that literally took my breath away! I can't believe they were able to create such amazing things so long ago when their resources were not as advanced as ours. We also toured the Basilica (church) and glass factory. All of the girls got handmade glass necklace charms. After this we went on a gondola ride through the waterways of Venice. The families that live there have boats, not cars, to get around. There are 118 islands that are all connected by bridges. We were hungry after so we decided to get some pizza and it was good. We had to top it off with gelato, of course, so I had the same kind that I had tried the day earlier. It was vanilla with cherry swirled through. We then just got lost in the city and walked through the narrow walkways. That night we ate Italian food at a true Italian restaurant and had spaghetti. It was good but it was expensive! $15 for plate of spaghetti that wasn't that big of a portion. Normally I share food when I go out in America or take some food home because it's too much, but I didn't share that night. We were exhausted so we went back to our hotel afterward and crashed. The time difference is 8 hours there. The next morning we woke up late and took a water taxi to our cruise ship. We boarded and relaxed all day on the ship, then had a welcome reception for Auto Owner's followed by dinner. The food on the ship was not good, unfortunately. I would suggest taking an American cruise line if you cruise in Europe. At least I didn't gain any weight like I thought I would, though!

Tyler's Graduation!

Congratulations to my sweetie for graduating from the UVU business school! We went to his ceremony where he got his diploma and walked across the stage, then we went to Carabba's for dinner. After, we saw the new movie Fast Five; Ty's choice :)

We went and built a fire in the Provo canyon with some great friends and made tin foil dinners and had giant roasted marshmallows!

We went to Vegas for Easter and went shopping and out to eat a lot, as well as the sunrise service that Ty's family does every year. Look at my cute niece with her swim cap on!

Me and my mom out to lunch last Saturday at Pei Wei! We went to get mani/pedi's afterward. I love that she lives so close!
Ty's dad got me some new Nike Free's for Mother's Day even though I'm not a mom yet. Tyler also totally surprised me with a present too! He got me a clothes steamer so I can steam my clothes that aren't easy to iron, and it's also better for clothes that are silk, etc. It was so nice!

Look at my cutie grandpa! My grandma and I met my mom for Katelyn's volleyball tournament a couple weekends ago when Ty was out of town for work. She did great!

Tyler and I are going to Italy and Greece THIS WEEK! He did really well at work and earned a trip for us :) I couldn't be more excited! Above is our ticket and also my calendar at work that shows how excited I am to go.

I am secretly married to Prince William. Ha ha j/k - this ring was at Nordstrom and I had to try it on because it's exactly like Kate Middleton's ring.

Some other fun things that we have been up to:
- Dinner at Pizzeria 712 with Kirsten Kuball to celebrate her graduation from grad school.
- BBQ at our house then games and movie with Marc and Court
- Water for Elephants and Zupa's with Oak and Scott. I loved that movie!
- Mother's Day brunch for my mom at our house. Mmm it was delish with pancakes and fruit with butter syrup, bacon and hash browns!
- Appetizers and yummy drinks at Sparks for Kim Taylor's birthday!
- Tyler and I's THREE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!! We just had a relaxed night with burgers at Marley's and then came home to hang out. Love him!

Tyler's birthday was on April 17th and we had so much fun celebrating! On Friday night we went up the canyon with Marc and Courtney and had dinner (hot dogs, chips, macaroni salad) and dessert (s'mores and peach cobbler)....healthy, huh?! It was so nice to have it be warm enough although it was still chilly when we weren't next to the fire. After, we went to their house to watch a movie. We celebrated Ty's birthday mostly on the Saturday before his birthday since his actual birthday was on Sunday. We started out the day by going shooting across the lake with Rachel and Drew, then we all went to this new restaurant called Mountain West Burrito. It is in this old gas station in the same building as a smoke shop, but it is SO good! Later that day when we got home, we soaked up the sun by sitting outside and reading. After, we went over to my mom's house so she could give him his birthday presents. They were so funny! She got him lingerie (for me) and a cute sign that goes in our entryway that says, "Be Nice or Leave." Love it! Then we went to Creativity Art Studio to create our own plates! On Sunday, we went over to Tyler's parents house for dinner and they made his favorite, sweet and sour chicken. On Tuesday night we all went to Happy Sumo and his sister Lindsay and her boyfriend gave him a candy bra and g-string! Ha ha I was dying laughing. They went to Florida to visit his sister and they found it in a candy shop. Apparently it's a lingerie birthday for him ha ha! His parents gave him an iPad 2 which he LOVES, Katelin gave him a couple pairs of shorts and hoodie, and Heather and Drew gave him a giant water holder meant to food storage. I gave him some Nike Free's and some new basketball shorts. He had a great time celebrating!

We got the finished products back yesterday! Tyler drew a picture of their boat, and his parent's houseboat's name is Wake Pal. I think he wants to go to Lake Powell soon :)

We made some great improvements to our home last week! My mom gave me this beautiful painting for my birthday which looks perfect in our kitchen above our table.

We added this cute valance in our kitchen which I think makes it feel more homey.
At our ward's sewing group I finished these drapes and we hung them in our room which keeps out the sun and makes it easier to sleep! The front of the drapes were finished (I bought them that way), but I bought blackout material at JoAnn's and sewed it on the back. I think it completes the look our bedroom. Tyler helped me hang everything up! It's nice to be married to a handyman.

My birthday, Vegas, and other fun adventures

This weekend was awesome - Ty and I went to this new Chinese food place in Orem then went to a movie. On Saturday, we woke up and had breakfast, I went to the gym, then we went birthday shopping for T Bear. After that, we went to the temple and dinner with his family. We went to Milagros, a new Mexican food place which was really good. Tyler had a meeting for church after that, so I made some pies (vanilla cream and coconut cream) for Sunday dinner at my parent's house. When he got home, we went to get a movie at Blockbuster then got yogurt at Spoon It Up. Fun times with my love! The week before, we had a training for work and got off early, so the girls all went to get mani/pedi's! We then went to the Volleyball game at BYU with Oakley + Scott, Sammy + Ben, and Casey + Ashley. After, we went to dinner at Guru's then went to see Source Code. The next day, T and I had pancakes and watched conference. We then hiked up to Bridal Veil Falls with Marc and Court and packed a lunch and had a picnic. We wanted to go then because the next day it was going to snow again. That night, while Ty was at the priesthood session, the girls went to get mani/pedi's and then we went to Magleby's for dinner.

Birthday dinner at Happy Sumo. My family and Tyler's family came :) After, we went and watched the BYU game, then went to see a movie. Earlier that day, by dad surprised me at the door with a cute decoration for my wall and his favorite book. The day and week was perfect!

Ty picked me up for a DELISH birthday lunch on Wednesday. Way to get the birthday started off right!

Tyler and I went to Jett's 5th birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. I used to love that place when I was little!
Well, it took me a year and half, but I finished this cute baby blanket! I go to our ward quilting group each month. It's fun, and hard work! Ha ha thanks for Jennifer Partridge who helped me, I finished and I am a proud quilt maker and owner. :)

These are my feet relaxing at the pool in Vegas. It was sooo nice to get out of our cold weather. It April and has been snowing the last few days!

We went to the MWC Tournament which was really fun! The first day we got there, I went to the Venetian pool with Jocelyn and Lindsay. We went to dinner that night at Bahama Breeze and then went to the game which was really good. The next day we did a little bit of shopping then went to the game (we lost!), then went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner then Luv It to get custard. Ty's family has to go there every time we go to Vegas and it's really delish.

This week, one of my best friend's little sister's got married so my mom and I went to her reception at the Springville Museum of Art. The food was delish (Bajio and sugar cookies) and I am always a fan of wedding cake. Congrats Sydney and Casey!

Tyler graduated in December so we had a little party for him with my family! He hasn't walked yet because the ceremony is in April, so we will have another party with his family then. We made homemade pizzas with my favorite dough from CPK and had yummy Granny B's sugar cookies that my mom got that you decorate yourself. My grandma made the best salad I have ever had in my life. It was so much fun to have everyone over to P-A-R-T-Y. We played Rock Band and everyone was rockin' out. My mom preferred to be a back up dancer and she sure was good at her job. :) My grandpa thought things got a little too loud, though, hence the picture with him plugging his ears. Thanks for coming to celebrate Tyler's big accomplishment everyone!

Today was lovely. I woke up late to rain falling outside my window. I did some laundry then went to the gym and lunch with my good friend Hayden. I can never get sick of eating at Zupa's and I think it's needed that I frequent that place more often. We went shopping, then later on Tyler and I went with his parents and Drew and Rachel to Macaroni Grill then saw the movie "Just Go With It" which I thought was great. All in all, a perfect day. PLUS it's a three day weekend because it's President's Day on Monday. Wahoooo!

Ok fine, the fun just doesn't stop around here...

On Saturday night we went to Shoga for some sushi with our friends then came back to our house to get our Rock Band on. We really rocked it out. :)

The above pictures are of my surprise Valentine's getaway for Tyler! I went home during my lunch break to pack our things, then tricked him that we were hanging out with our friends Oakley and Scott after work on Friday night. We were driving up to Salt Lake and I told him that Oakley told me to take a different exit to get to their house. When we passed 106th South, Ty said, "I am 100% positive that we need to get off the exit here!" I just smiled, then he caught on and said, "Where are we going?" My big plan for the night ensued! We checked into our hotel, the downdown Marriott, then went to dinner at CPK. We got cake to go, then got back to our hotel and went hot tubbing then watched a movie that I rented. We also had sparkling cider (our fave!) in our heart glasses. It was such a fun surprised. I am OBSESSED with my adorable husband. He is the absolute best! The next day we stopped at JCW's and got ourselves some cheeseburgers.
This picture is from a couple weeks ago when we had a slumber party with Marc and Court! They came over and we made homemade pizza and had a yummy salad bar, then watched a scary movie. We wore our jammies and cuddled up with lots of blankets!

Okay, I had to post this picture of my niece Paisley as Santa (aka Tyler) walked into the rooms at his Grandma's house during their little Christmas party. She was so nervous! Look at that precious face!

Look at my new pretty lamps! It completes my room. Tyler loves them too....or not. For some reason he hates lamps so often times I will find my lamp mysteriously unplugged. Hmm...

Tyler found a new way of reading, instead of using our new lamps. This is what I came to bed to the other night. My life is never dull with Tyler in it and I love it.

A couple weeks ago, we went to Cafe Paesan with some friends then went bowling at the new Provo Beach Resort. Afterward we got frozen yogurt at the Golden Spoon.

In other news, we have a new nephew! Tyler's sister gave birth to her second son and fourth child last Thursday. He is a cute fella!

This week was nuts-o. On Monday and Tuesday I was sick with a cold that had been dragging on for a week and it was all I could to stay at work all day. I went to bed around 9 p.m. both nights. On Wednesday, we started our work Kick-Off meetings. On Wednesday and Thursday we had breakfast, lunch, and dinner there and we had about 13 hours of straight meetings. On Friday we ended at around 2. It was exhausting but very helpful and we are excited for 2011! Needless to say, I was excited for the weekend. On Friday night, Chase and McKenzie Evans invited us to their cabin up at Sundance and it was a lot of fun! We ate pizza, salad and yummy snacks. Tyler and Chase had their own dance party (I love that he loves to dance!) and we sat around and caught up with some friends, including Sarah and Jeff Alexander. We had a great time!

On Saturday, I relaxed while Tyler went to work. I also cleaned the house and made lemon bars. Oakley and Scott and Mercedes came over to watch the BYU basketball game at 7 and the girls went to get Chinese food down the street. We came back and ate, then the girls went shopping a bit while the boys finished the game. After, we met at Tyler's parents house to play the Wii and talk! It was a fun night :) Today, we went to church then came home and took a nap. My mom and sister's Katelyn and Jocy came over for dinner along with Ty's sister Lindsay and Joc's friend Sadie. We had Italian Cream Cheese Chicken , beans, apple slices and rolls. For dessert, we had lemon bars!

We have started the New Year off right with some fun with our friends and family! On NYE we went up to our friend James' cabin/his parent's house. It is gorgeous and we snacked on some delicious food. We got stuck in the snow, however, on our way out because my pretty little Camry couldn't make it up the snowy driveway to the main road. Thanks James and Paul for pulling us out of there!

We then went to Marc and Courtney's house for the annual NYE party which is always a blast. We love them - plus it was Marc's birthday. Happy birthday to you!

The next day, Oakley and Ashley and I went up to the Park City Outlets to start off 2011 with a bang. Armed with a breakfast burrito from Del Taco and our Diet Coke's from Mickey D's, we managed to do a little damage at the Outlets. We love Banana Republic and J. Crew. Afterward we went to World Market and got some tasty treats.
That night, we met up with our hubby's and went to Shoga, a yummy sushi house in Orem.
After dinner, we came to our house to play games and eat my "Better Than Sex Cake" that I made. Hey, I didn't name it okay, but it is pretty good.
The following Thursday, I met up with Oakley and Jenny at Oakley's adorable condo and we went to Pei Wei for dinner. Yum yum, I wish they had one right next to my house in Provo! That Friday we went over to Scott and Oakley's house again and made homemade pizzas (okay, okay, I got the pizza dough from CPK and it was better than homemade!) We rented the movie "Dinner for Schmucks" and I couldn't believe how funny it was! I had low expectations when I saw the trailer for the movie, but it exceeded my expectations by far. The next day we went to the BYU basketball game and then went to Tepanyaki with Ty's family. Ty and went grocery shopping afterward then went to see True Grit and Tangled. They were both great movies!
This past weekend was Rachel's birthday and I didn't take any pictures but we went to Market Street Grill up in Sandy with the Parcell's and Skalla's (her family). The food was delish! I gave her some pretty earrings and she got some other cute clothes too.

On Saturday, Tyler and I took down our Christmas decorations and cleaned our house. Then Tyler and I and Jocelyn met my dad at the mall for a delicious birthday lunch! He wanted these really good Italian Cheesesteak sandwiches and they were delicious - I'll definitely be going back. Jocelyn and I shopped around the mall afterward. That night, we met up with Marc and Courtney at the BYU Museum of Art and saw a beautiful exhibit on Carl Bloch. He did many of the paintings we see today in our churches, temples and magazines. We went to Mi Ranchito afterward which I love because their salsa and their beans are delish. After dinner, we went to Tyler's parents house to watch a movie. We didn't end up watching the movie, however, because we got sucked into playing Just Dance 2 on the Wii! Scott and Oakley came over and we were having a blast dancing the night away. That game is so addicting and actually a really good workout - we were all sweating!

Thank goodness for great friends and family - you guys fill up our lives with happiness and we are thankful for the laughs and good times!!

Christmas time is here :)

Christmas was amazing this year. Utterly lovely in every way. We did gingerbread houses on Christmas eve at my grandma's which I always look forward to. Beforehand we had a delicious dinner. I brought artichoke dip and chips and bread, and poppyseed bread. We always have these delicious hot ham and cheese sandwiches. There was SOOO much candy you would not believe it! The next day we woke up and went over to my grandma's house to open presents and man was I spoiled. I got a fabulous coat from Tyler that I told him I wanted but I really didn't think he would get it for me. I told him I wanted it and he said, "you already have enough coats." I was thrilled when I opened the box! I got these awesome black leather boots that I are comfy and great for winter. Two perfumes from my mom - Light Blue and Burberry. My dad got a gift card to Carabba's and the new Rascal Flatt's CD which is amazing. Jocelyn got my two pairs of earrings and a cute Alice in Wonderland book because we loved that movie growing up. She gave Ty a gift card to Happy Sumo. Kate gave me a bracelet and Ty a gift card to Spoon it Up. My mom gave Ty a huge pack of gum and a Polo shirt. And the list goes on and on. I love my family and it is so much fun to give and receive. We then went to Tyler's house and exchanged a few gifts and went to the movie Little Fockers which I didn't think was that good, honestly. The night before we went over to the Parcells' and Walt did a cool Christmas thing where he blindfolded us all, played music about Christ, and would bring things around for us to feel that were a part of Christ's life. For example, a nail, straw, block of wood, etc. It was really neat to think about Christ and all he did for us. We are so lucky to have such wonderful families, and I truly couldn't feel luckier to have such an amazing husband. He brings out the best in me and I look up to him because he is such a Christ-like person.

I went with Jocelyn and 30 (yes, 30) of her friends to Cheesecake Factory to celebrate her birthday! It was so much fun! I gave her a little pearl on gold chain Dogeard necklace for her birthday. We were shopping at Nordstrom while waiting for our tables, and she walked over the Dogeard necklaces and said, "I really want the pearl one! I should have asked for it for Christmas." I almost busted out laughing because I was about to give it to her for her birthday and was carrying it with me in my bag! Love it. Love her. So glad she's my sister! Oh and p.s. - the food was to die for! We had Bang Bang chicken which is Thai coconut curry-ish with rice and this delicious cheesy pasta. We topped it off with red velvet cheesecake which I've been craving ever since. And to top it off, my co-worker and her friend (coincidence!) picked up the tab for her birthday. She has great friends and it was a blast hanging out with them for the night!

Happy birthday Jocelyn! You are the best of the BEST!

I have not blogged in so long, and I want to remember all of the fun things that we have done!!
- Temple square with Marc and Court
- Dinner and a movie with Lauren and Michael (Lauren is my friend from back in Texas)
- Dinner with Oakley and Scott, Ashley and Casey, and Ben and Sammy
- Dale's wedding reception
- Carolyn's bridal shower and hanging out with all the girls
- BYU basketball games. Rachel let us go with her to sit on the floor seats and it was really fun!
- Pumpkin carving with Matt and Kayla, plus delicious apple cider and caramel apples
- Dinner at my house for dinner group - I made baked potato soup which I have made several times since because it's delish
- Dinner with Kim and Dave and their friends last weekend at Macaroni Grill. We played a really fun game after that had us all laughing
- Black Friday shopping with mom! We went at like 10 am though - I will never go at 4 again in my entire life. We shopped at University Mall then went to lunch at Carabbas. It was perfecto and so much fun to hang out with her
- Working out and din with Hayden last night. We braved the storm and went to Pizza Factory
- Going to Shoga with Ashley and Oakley last weekend while the boy's were at Dale's Bachelor party. It's a delish sushi place that I love! We then went on an adventure to get ski passes then finished up the night at Nordstrom then snuggled on the couch watching Glee

I swear I will blog more often to document my life!

Tyler and I made these adorable little turkeys for Thanksgiving! We had dinner at his parent's house this year which was delicious. I love my husby who will do fun little things like this with me. I'm a lucky one to have him!
