10 things I am thankful for

1) My husband. He is the best husband in the world and I have never met someone so understanding of me. He has the kindest heart and cares about me more than I can imagine! He is humble, sweet and smart. He makes me laugh every single day without fail and is always looking for the positive in everything. I don't know what I did to deserve such a wonderful man!

2) My mom and dad. I turn to them when I am sad and in need of advice. They have shaped me into who I am today and they are such wonderful people! I am eternally grateful for their insurmountable love for me.

3) The sunshine. Living in California has been great simply because of the endless sunshine. I love natural light and I open the blinds the minute I wake up so I can let the sun in!

4) Babies and little kids. I love going to church because there are the cutest little babies there! They are so innocent and sweet, and I love being in thier presence because there is so much excitement in their little sparkling eyes. They delight in the littlest things and they remind me to have joy in everything.

5) The smell and feel of clean sheets. There is nothing better than climbing into bed with freshly cleaned sheets!

6) My sisters. They are so cute, and mostly they just make me laugh without even trying. I am so glad they are in my life!

7) The mountains. I LOVE being outside and in nature. I also love the ocean. I have been around the ocean a lot this summer. Looking out at the ocean or at mountains just makes you feel beautiful and natural.

8) When people are nice to me when I'm serving. I'm human too, and when I make a mistake with their order and they are still nice to me...thank you! I really am thankful for those people who are simply kind.

9) Clean and nicely stocked grocery stores. Ahhh. I have been in some pretty dumpy ones here in CA and it makes me happy when they are nice and clean!

10) The Gospel and the scriptures. They bring peace and sense and to my life and put everything into perspective. I am so thankful for being born to parents who lived the standards of the church. It has brought me more happiness than I can possibly know!

2 month anniversary :)

Yesterday was mine and Tyler's 2 month anniversary! How exciting! This sounds funny but it actually seems longer than that only because of all the things that we have done the past two months! We went to Hawaii, to Texas, moved to a new state, I searched for and found a new job for the summer, Tyler started summer sales, etc! It's a lot! We are having a blast and I am continually amazed at how lucky I am for all of my blessings. The Lord really has a hand in our lives.

Count some of your blessings today and you will be amazed too :)

Happy Fourth of July!

We had a wonderful fourth of July holiday yesterday! We woke up (pretty early because Tyler went to work until 2ish) and I made blueberry muffins. Then Megan (Tyler's friend Dave's girlfriend) and I went to work out at the gym and then we layed out by the pool. We came in to get ready and Tyler got home so us three went to the Beverly Center mall until Dave got home. It is a huge mall in the Beverly Hills area, and I got two new cute shirts! We then met Dave back at home and Drew let Dave and Megan borrow his motorcycle so we could all go to the Santa Monica pier. Ty and I hopped on his bike and we were off! We went to eat at Ye Olde King's Head (ha ha). It is an old English-style restaurant which turned out to be pretty good. There is a shop next to the restaurant that sells all sorts of English candy too! While my cousin Amanda was in London, she sent me tons of candy and sweets and I recognized a lot of the things she sent me, including Hob Nobs, which are delicious cookies! After dinner we weaved through the traffic to see the fireworks at Marina Del Rey. After we got home, Ty and I watched some of a movie and then went to sleep! It was a fun day and I loved spending it with my sweet husband. He makes me laugh so much! :)

My favorite salesman :)
Cake decorating with my new friends!
The finished product....look how cool!

On Wednesday morning Ty and I got up at 7:30 and went to the Los Angeles temple! It took a lot longer to get there than we thought because of the early morning traffic and I had to be at work at 11, but it was still a lovely experience :) That night I went to do cake decorating with some of my friends in the ward! It was really fun and I think I might get more into that hobby because I liked it a lot. I have been working a lot this week at California Pizza Kitchen and I like it a lot. My managers are really nice and it keeps me busy! :) Also, last Sunday Ty and I were invited to a cute couple, Matt and Whitney's, apartment for pie and ice cream with a lot of the younger couples in our ward! It was a lot of fun! Tyler's parents and sister Lindsey got here last night and I couldn't be happier! We went to 3rd street promenade last night, out to dinner and saw the moving "Get Smart." It was SO funny and I recommend it, especially if you like "The Office"-style humor. We are going to the fashion district today and then tonight we are going to the Dodgers v. Angels game which is a big rivalry! I'll post pictures of the fun later!

Best husband and best mom in the world!

Tyler and have been married for a month and a half now and we LOVE it! I can't imagine anything better than to be married for time and all eternity to the perfect man for me. Here is my story for the day...

I was in a hurry this morning because I had to be in the office working (answering phones for Platinum) at one. I started laundry and the dishwasher and grabbed my things to go to the grocery store. We really need milk and I haven't had time to get it the last two days. I had my purse, the GPS (won't drive without it!), my keys and an empty orange juice jug to throw away in the trash chute on the way to the elevator. I got to the elevator and realized that I still had the OJ jug in my hand, so I pressed the elevator button and hurried to run back to the chute before the elevator door opened. My hands were full and I struggled to open the trash chute door and then the small door to throw the jug down. I heard a metal clinking and looked in my hands to see if I might have dropped anything. I didn't notice anything so I ran to the elevator door as it was closing and stepped inside. When I got to the parking garage I realized that the car keys were not on my key chain. My house and mail keys were still there, but not the car key or automatic unlocker. I went back upstairs and realized that I had dropped it in the trash chute! Tyler and I only have one pair of keys to the truck so whenever I use it I just clip them onto keys. I guess while I was opening the trash chute, the key clip opened up and the only thing that fell off were the keys to the truck. I was absolutely devastated!! Our only set of keys! Plus I was supposed to pick Tyler up at 6 so we could have a fun night together! I hurried down to the office and asked maintenance to go down to the trash chute, hoping they would find it. No problem, it would just be laying at the top, right? Apparently, the compressor had already grinded everything up and it is too dangerous to go down where the compressor is. I was so upset! I called Tyler to tell him the bad news and I know he could tell I was upset. He asked me to get the vin number on the car and told me kindly that he would take care of it. He texted me later saying that it wasn't a big deal and everything would work out. I LOVE this man! He never gets mad or annoyed with me and is always so patient. My mom also brought up another good point which totally made me feel better. Everything happens for a reason...maybe if I would have gotten into the truck and gone to the store something much worse would have happened to me. My mom always makes me feel better about EVERYTHING! She always has the best points and positive attitude. I really do not know what I would do without her. I always call her when I am in predicaments like this, and even though she is not here with me, she always makes the situtation seem easier to handle. I love you so much mom! I remember hearing stories of peope who worked in the World Trade Center in New York where something went a little wrong on the morning of the attacks, and they got held up at home or something. Had those events not happened, they would have gotten to work on time and been killed in the two towers. I'm not saying anything that catstophic would have happened to me, but I'm just saying that you never really know. Things happen for a reason. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing husband who understands me and my feelings. He never blames me for things or makes me feel worse...he only makes me feel better!
