Memorial Day, our New Garden and our Weekend

Tyler and I planted our very first garden on Memorial Day! He did such an amazing job on our gardening boxes. We decided to do gardening boxes because they seem to be easy to walk around and garden from all angles. He got the materials from Home Depot. I followed the instructions on what fertilizer to use and how to plant them from my Gardening Club. We planted a bunch of varieties of tomatoes. My grandma gave me some and we bought some. We also planted zucchini, cucumbers, and red and green peppers. We are excited to watch our garden grow! That same day he mowed our new lawn for the first time with the riding lawn mower that we bought. Our yard is way too big for a pushing lawn mower so we thought a riding mower would be a much better investment so he doesn't have to spend 3 hours every week. We are excited to have some parties in our yard once our fire pit is done! That night we went on a long scooter ride then just stayed in, made dinner and watched some tv.

For young women on Tuesday we went to JoDee's house and cooked tinfoil dinners. She gave us a tour of her new barn and we went to see Kevin (the giant pig) and her new cows. On Friday night we went to the temple with the Parcells then out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. The next morning we went to the United Angels Foundation Walk for Angels for Welles. It's a great organization for Oakley and Scott and for all parents with children who have special needs. After the walk, Ty and I went to Cafe Rio for lunch then went to buy a trimmer for our yard. We then went to Amy and Jaron's house for Stryker's first birthday party. She throws the best parties! It was rockstar-themed so she had a red carpet, tattoos, hair paint, a band setup where the kids could play, popcorn, Rockstar drinks, candy and an adorable cake. After we left their house, Tyler met Scott at the golf course. I drove up to hang out with Oakley. We got dinner and came back to her house to eat. When the boys were done golfing, they came home to watch the kids and we went to see Maleficent. We thought the movie was good! It was a busy, busy day and we had a good weekend!

Hike to the "G"

I love living in Utah. I always tell Tyler that nowhere in the whole world beats Utah in the summer. The air smells so sweet and it gets nice and crisp and cool when the sun starts to go down. I can't get enough. Last week I took a scooter ride to go on a hike I had never done before to the Pleasant Grove "G" on the mountain. I figure since we are PG residents that it was about time that I pay homage. When I drove up to the canyon there was helicopter, firetrucks, police cars and an ambulance. I was told that I needed to turn around because there had been a paragliding accident and they were searching for someone. Scary!! I found out later that they found the person that fell and he was safely transferred to a hospital and is okay. I was able to find a different way to start on the trail by driving down the road a few block, parking, then making my way by foot to the start of the trail.

The views were gorgeous! I kept stopping to take pictures every few minutes. I want to soak up every last minute of summer! I also want to take as many selfies as I can while hiking this summer by myself...
