Girl's Weekend in Vegas! - add pics
I went to Vegas with my mom and Jocelyn while Tyler was in Baja, Mexico and it was SO MUCH FUN! I did a blog post for Red Rock so we got to stay there for free! We at Shake Shack, went shopping with the $100 gift card that the shops nearby gave me for posting, they treated us to "mocktails" by the pool, we got free blowouts at the salon, and I got a free facial which was AMAZING! Oh man, we were treated like queens. My neighbor owns a McDonald's around the corner so he gave us free breakfast on Saturday which was so nice of him. We had lunch at CPK, shopped some more and all got some pretty new shoes at Dillard's, and....saw Celine Dion!! Jocelyn then drove from there on Sunday to see her boyfriend Matt in California and my mom and I drove home, after we got In 'n Out cheeseburgers of course. I loved every second of that weekend and it went by way too fast!
Alpine Live Nativity - add pics
We had my family over to our house for homemade soup and then we all went to the Live Nativity! After, we came back for hot chocolate and popsicles and to hang out.

Paisley got baptized and then we went to over to Rachel and Drew's to have homemade Cafe Rio salads :)
Savior of the World - add pics
This year, the Savior of the World performance meant a lot more to me after going through all of our infertility struggles. I'm so grateful for His hand in our lives!
BYU Basketball - add pics
We got season tickets to the BYU men's basketball games this year and it was a blast! We loved going to all of the games and sitting by Walt and Carol. We would go to dinner beforehand. Go Cougars!
Getting a Chrismas Tree! - add pics
We went with my mom, Steve and grandpa to cut down their Christmas tree. We stopped and got some hot chocolate and had Mexican food in Springville on the way home. It was a Christmasy day!
Family Christmas Card Pics! - post pics
What you can't see in these photos is the hyperstimulation from my IVF...my tummy was filled with liquid! I had to go to the doctor a couple days later for an IV and to get the liquid drained out.
Halloween - add pics
Carol put together a really fun Halloween party complete with caramel apples, sugar cookie decorating, soup, costume dress-ups and pumpkin carving. I love fun holidays! My friends at work and I dressed up like the Spice Girls :) On Halloween, Tyler and I took a fun Razr ride up American Fork Canyon and all the way to Midway where we had a delicious lunch at the Mexican food place there. It was so gorgeous with all of the fall colors!
Grandma's 90th surprise birthday party! - add pics
I absolutely LOVED the entire weekend that we all went up to Washington to surprise my grandma for her 90th birthday party! We drove with my dad and Katelyn, and Jocelyn flew. I love being with family; I think it's a little slice of heaven. We talked and got caught up with the cousins, lit off some of the lanterns the first night to test them out, had breakfast at the Marriott the next morning, ate at the big burger place that is tradition, then we went to the church to help get everything set up. Shanon had arranged the catering and did a great job. Lauren did the flower arrangements. There was a presentation in the chapel after the dinner; Shawn made a cute slideshow and Krista wrote a beautiful poem that Brian read. We lit off 90 lanterns into the sky. It was such a great weekend with family. I love them.
Weeked in Vegas with Mom and Steve! - add pics
We had a great weekend in Vegas in mom and Steve! We had a yummy dinner at Cheesecake Factory the first night, then went out to the Hoover dam the next day. It was really cool! That night we went to dinner at BJ's to get delish pizza, etc and went to a movie.
Walt's 60th Birthday Surprise Party! - add pics
Carol put together an amazing 60th birthday party for Walt and it as a surprise! She rented out La Jolla Groves. Each of his children got up to speak about why they love their dad and some fun memories, and then we watched a fun slideshow of his life. We had just gotten the good news that the medication was working in keeping the cancer away so it was such a beautiful night of celebrating his life!
Dinner at the Sundance Tree Room - add pics
I did really well at work one quarter by closing a big deal so my boss told Tyler and I that we could go eat wherever we wanted! We went up to the Sundance Tree Room and had their peppered steak. It was so delicious and such a fun night. I love the ambience up there. It's so pretty!
Trip to Texas! - add pics
I went on a business trip to Austin, Texas then drove to Dallas to hang out with my Ashley for the weekend! It's always so much fun. We went to a yummy dinner, got our nails done at like 10 pm at this place that stays open really late on the weekends, went shopping and just had a great time! Oh, and we had to go to Torchy's Tacos. I crave that - their salmon tacos and chips and queso are so good!
Girl's Weekend in Park City - add pics
Just the girls stayed at Hotel Park City for a weekend and it was so much fun! We ate yummy pizza at Maxwell's, browsed the aisles of World Market for a long time (we always feel like we are in a rush...it was so nice to slow down!), got treats and a movie at the grocery store and went hot tubbing with no one else around. We got up and went to church the next morning then hung out at Mom and Steve's. I love my mom and sisters!
Boating with Steve's family - add pics
We took the family out to the lake and had a great time! A great time until we were on the way in because the boat wasn't working, and then we hit a sand bar. Yikes! Luckily everyone was okay. We played some games after that, then stopped and got CupBop Korean BBQ on the way home.
Dirt Biking at the Cabin - add pictures
We took our dirt bikes and my mom and Steve's 4 wheeler and spent the night at their cabin and then went all day on the Devil's race track! It was a great day to go because it had just rained the day before so it wasn't dusty, and there was NO ONE on it. It was a blast! I was quite impressed with myself, not going to lie. I almost fell going up a hill once though...like almost fell backward!! Whew. It was at the end and I was getting tired so I was getting way too daring. It was a great day!
Jackson Hole! - add pictures
Tyler and I met his family in Jackson Hole for the weekend. They were coming back from Canada so we met them and it was such a fun weekend! We went on the gondola up to the tippy top of the mountain and saw some gorgeous views, walked around and shopped around the square, got a few yummy breakfasts at the some local restaurants, and went to the Bar J Wranglers performance which was SO much fun! I didn't really know what to expect, but they were so talented with their singing and instrument playing. We had a Chuck wagon dinner and then the performance. It as a quick and fun weekend!
Babymoon in Hawaii! - add pics
We went to Hawaii for our babymoon and the only way that I
can adequately describe it would be that it was dreamy. Seriously though. We
enjoyed every second of it together and it was so much fun to just go with us
two. We got there the first night and did a little grocery shopping and then
headed to our condo. It was dark so we couldn’t see the ocean while we were
driving but we could smell the salty air. Our condo was awesome! It was a one
bedroom about 15 steps away from the ocean. We would always have the door open
so we could hear the waves crashing.
On Sunday, we went to church for sacrament meeting. The
chapel was so hot and there were so many people! My pregnant bod wasn’t loving
it, but it did love eating at the Gazebo afterward. It’s a small gazebo right
by the ocean and you better believe I got eggs benedict, my favorite. We spent
the rest of the day lounging, napping and then exploring the blowhole later
that night. We ran into a professional photographer who got some great pictures
of us! It was getting really dark so he worked with the light he had, but I was
so amazed by his kindness and the really neat shots we got! I think I’ll frame
one of the pictures for the babies’ nursery.
The following morning, we woke up and had cereal on our
porch then headed to the beach where I took a nice long walk and Tyler ran
about 6 miles. We had a snack while sitting on the sidewalk and then got an
amazing massage at the Westin! They gave it to us for free since I agreed to
blog about it afterward; otherwise it would have cost us $600! Tyler was in
absolute heaven and he said it got his trip started on the right foot of pure
relaxation. It was a couple’s massage and Tyler kept saying things like, “I
like I’m love with this.” He was so cute; it was cracking me up. We then went
to lunch at Leilani’s and shared some nachos and fish tacos on the balcony
overlooking the ocean. We walked around the shops and then got our chairs from
the car and sat on the beach reading for several hours. It was so peaceful!
Tyler went and bought the cutest hat to shade his face, and he also bought his
new favorite water bottle that keeps the water cold all day. We took a walk
during the sunset on the beach and I couldn’t stop thinking about how nice and
peaceful it was. I sure love my boy.
The rest of the week was much of the same! We would pick a
great beach and relax all day. We ate at the most delicious restaurants. We had
breakfast at the Gazebo another day (coconut pancakes this time) and had
breakfast at Duke’s another day (Tyler got a burrito and I got coconut
pancakes). We got fish tacos for lunch one day at this little hole in the wall
that my friend recommended, then got delicious shaved ice afterward and walked
around the shops in Laie. We had dinner at some incredible places. At Kimo’s we
got coconut shrimp, seafood chowder and lobster topped fish. We sat outside by
the ocean and the tiki lights. We had our special anniversary dinner at Mama’s
Fish House (you have to make a reservation a couple weeks in advance) and it
was the most charming Hawaain restaurant. We both got lobster and crab stuffed
Mahi Mahi.
On another day we went to this beautiful rainforest area
that we saw in the Maui guidebook, then drove to Paia for lunch at the fish
market. Their blackened fish tacos were amazing! We then walked around the
shops there, then found a cool beach (we had been there a couple years prior
with Tyler’s family). It was windy and there big waves so we sat under a shaded
tree in our chairs and watched the people on their wind/surfboard things. A big
sea lion came up on shore and laid there in the sun. It was such a relaxing
afternoon. We drove back to our side of the island that evening and had pizza
at Lahaina Pizza Co. then bought Tyler a cute swimming suit in the shops. We
also went the Sheraton Luau one night because they let us go for free if I
posted about it on my blog.
On the last day, we relaxed a lot, went snorkeling and ate
at Leoda’s pie shop which was charming. Oh my goodness, it was the best
vacation! It was SO relaxing and I just love spending time with Tyler. We had a
really good time. My favorite was when Tyler’s texted the following Tuesday
while I was at work with a picture of us eating our snow cones and said,
“remember when?” We collected some heart shaped seashells and coral that I’m
going to put in the nursery to remember our great trip together.
