Miscellaneous fun

This past weekend Tyler and I went to see Playing for Keeps then came home and relaxed. On Saturday we went to the temple and Kneaders for lunch with his family, then shopping at Nike and Cabelas (I found myself a comfy chair at Cabelas!), then met up with the Kirklands and Petersons. The boys went to the Orem High basketball game. Some of the boys on the high school team are signed with BYU so they wanted to check them out. The girls went shopping, then we all met up and went to Rubio's for dinner and back to the Parcells to watch the BYU basketball game. The week before on Friday we went to CPK for dinner with the Kirklands, Petersons, Oleniks and Hansens and then went back to Ashley and Casey's house to decorate sugar cookies. On Saturday night we went to eat at the Red Iguana in Salt Lake and then saw Savior of the World with the Parcells. In other news:
- My cousin Tommy left for his mission to Fort Worth Texas so we went to his farewell and brunch
- Heather and Casey's kids came over for a Christmas night with grammy and pops so we played with the train set with them
- Amanda is in town (she's pregnant!) so we went to lunch at The Pizza Factory
- My mom and I have made a bit of a tradition to see movies together on $5 Tuesdays at Wynnsong. We recently saw Brave and Wreck it Ralph. She also got a gym membership so we have been going to the gym together!
- Mozy had a fun casino night Christmas party. We had dinner, then we were at the 21 table with Mallory and Jeff and Alex and his wife which was really fun.
- Oakley invited me to Bunco last year with a group of girls that I have gotten to know over the past year. We meet once a month for bunco night and have dinner and treats. It was our turn to host it so we met at her house and Oak, Jenni and I made bread bowls with potato soup, pumpkin spice steamers and salad with pumpkin cookies for dessert.
- Tyler has been wanting a bow, so he got one as an early Christmas present. He loves it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving weekend was long and wonderful. I got off work early on Wednesday and went to lunch at Quiznos and shopping at the outlets with Jocelyn and my mom. That night we went to the BYU basketball game, got yogurt at Farr's and went to see Lincoln. I thought the movie was great except we saw it so late that I couldn't stop falling asleep! The next day we spent Thanksgiving with the Parcells and cooked our butts off for hours. The end result was worth it though and I had leftovers for days! That night we combined with my family and saw the movie Life of Pi. On Friday we woke up and went to the gym, then went shopping at Scheels. Tyler tested out a bow he wanted for over an hour, and then ended up ordering one for Christmas. We also went to Fashion Place mall and had dinner at Cheesecake Factory. Rachel showed me this gorgeous couch that she had just bought at Downeast Basics so we raced to the store before it closed and bought it too. I'll post pictures of it in my formal living room when we move into our house. On Saturday I went to the gym with my mom and then went back to Downeast to buy a mirrored table for my formal dining room. After that I went home, showered, and went to the BYU basketball game. It was a really fun, intense game because the #1 recruit in the nation, Jabari Parker, was on his formal visit to BYU so everyone was going crazy. After that we went to a late dinner at Happy Sumo. We had a great weekend and we didn't want it to end!

St. George Half Marathon!

Tyler's family ran in the St. George Half Marathon this year! I can't run because my IT band kills me when I do, but I was a great photographer and cheerleader. We drove there on Friday night and stayed at someone's house that the Parcells know. It's a vacation home so we were the only ones there. The next day everyone woke up and Rachel and I slept in the went to take pictures of everyone crossing the finish line. Tyler did great and beat his last time! After that, we went to lunch at Kneaders, then laid out by a neighborhood pool. They used to have a house in the neighborhood and we weasled our way in. After a nice relaxing afternoon we went to dinner at Costa Vida then went to see the Bee Gee's Tribute Band at the Tuacahn Theater. I had never been to that theater and it was so beautiful and it was a fun night! After the concert we went to Nielsen's Frozen Custard to top off the night.

Girl's weekend!

Tyler went on a hunting trip to Colorado with Drew so I decided to have a great girl's weekend with my mom! On Thursday night, we went to the opening of Twilight. My mom works at a dental office and a surgical arts office gave their office some tickets to the movie. Some of the people at her office didn't want to go so she gave me and Katelyn a ticket and then we were also able to invite Courtney! We walked in and they gave a bag of goodies and after we sat down they walked around and gave us some more candy. They also had a raffle but my mom didn't win anything. We took lots of pictures with our wax vampire teeth too! We all really liked the movie too and it was such a fun night. The next night my mom and I went to the new outlets at Traverse Mountain and stocked up on Christmas presents at J. Crew. We then went to a perfume event at Dillards, then met Jocelyn at Pei Wei for dinner. On Saturday, I went with Walt and Carol and Lindsay at Katelin to lunch at Kneaders for Walt's sister Karen's birthday. We then went to shop at the outlets again and then drove to Lindon to have dinner at Los Hermanos where my mom met us too. After that my mom and I went to see the movie Flight. Talk about a great weekend!

We moved!

We have been really busy lately with some huge life changes recently - we moved! We sold our house in a matter of two weeks. We had no idea it would happen so quickly. We took pictures and listed it on the market and began getting multiple calls per day of people wanting to come and look. We got our first offer two weeks to the date of listing our house and ended up accepting the offer! It is always bittersweet to move because you love the people in your ward and in your neighborhood. We had some great neighbors. I was in the primary presidency, so I had to say goodbye to all of the kids which was sad! Some of the kids I had known for 3 years. While our house was still in the closing process, Tyler and I were looking for lots that we could buy so we could build our new house. Before the house closed we found an amazing half acre lot in Pleasant Grove by the mountain. It is gorgeous and everything that I wanted in a lot! We absolutely loved it and immediately put in an offer the next day. The guy that owned it said that he already had a better offer, so we asked him what it would take to buy the lot and put in an offer for that. He accepted it even though he got so many other offers that same day! We are now the proud owners of that lot, which includes a next door neighbor pig named Kevin. Our house closed, we moved out to Tyler's parents house and our lot closed yesterday. It's so exciting. Speaking of moving, my mom helped SOOO much! I was packing a little bit but didn't want to pack everything in case their loan didn't go through. It also closed a couple days late, on Thursday, and they wanted us out by Saturday! My mom came over and worked with us on Friday for 12 hours straight. We took a small break to get dinner at Bajio then kept working! The next morning we finished up and some people from our ward helped us move all of our belongings to the Parcell's basement garage. We were all so exhausted. Tyler and I came home to take a nap then went to dinner at Cafe Rio with my mom and stopped by at the Taylors to catch up with them and the Browns. We can't wait to start building!
