Babymoon in Hawaii! - add pics

We went to Hawaii for our babymoon and the only way that I can adequately describe it would be that it was dreamy. Seriously though. We enjoyed every second of it together and it was so much fun to just go with us two. We got there the first night and did a little grocery shopping and then headed to our condo. It was dark so we couldn’t see the ocean while we were driving but we could smell the salty air. Our condo was awesome! It was a one bedroom about 15 steps away from the ocean. We would always have the door open so we could hear the waves crashing.

On Sunday, we went to church for sacrament meeting. The chapel was so hot and there were so many people! My pregnant bod wasn’t loving it, but it did love eating at the Gazebo afterward. It’s a small gazebo right by the ocean and you better believe I got eggs benedict, my favorite. We spent the rest of the day lounging, napping and then exploring the blowhole later that night. We ran into a professional photographer who got some great pictures of us! It was getting really dark so he worked with the light he had, but I was so amazed by his kindness and the really neat shots we got! I think I’ll frame one of the pictures for the babies’ nursery.

The following morning, we woke up and had cereal on our porch then headed to the beach where I took a nice long walk and Tyler ran about 6 miles. We had a snack while sitting on the sidewalk and then got an amazing massage at the Westin! They gave it to us for free since I agreed to blog about it afterward; otherwise it would have cost us $600! Tyler was in absolute heaven and he said it got his trip started on the right foot of pure relaxation. It was a couple’s massage and Tyler kept saying things like, “I like I’m love with this.” He was so cute; it was cracking me up. We then went to lunch at Leilani’s and shared some nachos and fish tacos on the balcony overlooking the ocean. We walked around the shops and then got our chairs from the car and sat on the beach reading for several hours. It was so peaceful! Tyler went and bought the cutest hat to shade his face, and he also bought his new favorite water bottle that keeps the water cold all day. We took a walk during the sunset on the beach and I couldn’t stop thinking about how nice and peaceful it was. I sure love my boy.

The rest of the week was much of the same! We would pick a great beach and relax all day. We ate at the most delicious restaurants. We had breakfast at the Gazebo another day (coconut pancakes this time) and had breakfast at Duke’s another day (Tyler got a burrito and I got coconut pancakes). We got fish tacos for lunch one day at this little hole in the wall that my friend recommended, then got delicious shaved ice afterward and walked around the shops in Laie. We had dinner at some incredible places. At Kimo’s we got coconut shrimp, seafood chowder and lobster topped fish. We sat outside by the ocean and the tiki lights. We had our special anniversary dinner at Mama’s Fish House (you have to make a reservation a couple weeks in advance) and it was the most charming Hawaain restaurant. We both got lobster and crab stuffed Mahi Mahi.

On another day we went to this beautiful rainforest area that we saw in the Maui guidebook, then drove to Paia for lunch at the fish market. Their blackened fish tacos were amazing! We then walked around the shops there, then found a cool beach (we had been there a couple years prior with Tyler’s family). It was windy and there big waves so we sat under a shaded tree in our chairs and watched the people on their wind/surfboard things. A big sea lion came up on shore and laid there in the sun. It was such a relaxing afternoon. We drove back to our side of the island that evening and had pizza at Lahaina Pizza Co. then bought Tyler a cute swimming suit in the shops. We also went the Sheraton Luau one night because they let us go for free if I posted about it on my blog.

On the last day, we relaxed a lot, went snorkeling and ate at Leoda’s pie shop which was charming. Oh my goodness, it was the best vacation! It was SO relaxing and I just love spending time with Tyler. We had a really good time. My favorite was when Tyler’s texted the following Tuesday while I was at work with a picture of us eating our snow cones and said, “remember when?” We collected some heart shaped seashells and coral that I’m going to put in the nursery to remember our great trip together.
