Tyler's 26th birthday!

Tyler had a fun birthday this year! We went to Happy Sumo with his family + extended family on his birthday night then went to see the movie 17 Again which was pretty funny!

After the movie we went to get ice cream at Cold Stone
The next night I threw a surprise party for Tyler! It was so fun because he had no idea and he is so hard to surprise! We had a yummy ice cream cake and Ashley & Bobby and Connie, Courtney & Marc, Amy & Dave, Josh, Drew, Lindsay, Katelin and his parents came! It was so much fun! On Tyler's birthday I had a scavenger hunt for him all around his parent's house. I put each clue in a balloon and Tyler had to pop the balloon to read it. These were all the clues: 1) This is the start of your birthday scavenger hunt! Go to a place where suds abound and things get clean! (the laundry room) 2) Good job! Next travel to the place where your sister should have slept, but it was a little too late...(Heather's bedroom in the house, but she never lived here. It was too late because she was already married!) 3) Well done! You're on a roll now. Next to a place where silly faces are made and old times are found! (Walt's office...he has lots of pictures on his computer!) 4) Way to go! You'll find your next clue in a place that is hardly used, but relaxing all the same! Can you pass the shampoo? (The bath tub in Walt and Carol's room) 5) You're an expert now! Go to the place that has all of the holidays...all year round! (The storage room in the basement with all the holiday decorations) 6) Wonderful, you're almost there! What, we're running out of food? (The food storage room) 7) Well done! You'll find your next clue where patriotism abounds! (The bedroom that is decorated patriotically) .... then he found his present sitting in there! I wrapped some heavy things and put a paper in the box telling hime what his real present was. I got him some ammunition for his gun! Happy birthday Ty!

Carol's 50th Surprise Birthday Party

Carol's (my mother-in-law) 50th surprise birthday party was at Chef's Table on Saturday afternoon! She had no idea and it was so much fun to see how surprised she was! Her mom and sister came in town with excuses of wedding planning for her niece. On Saturday before they left, they wanted all the girls to have a fun lunch...at Chef's Table! So all the girl's piled in the car and we went to have our "girl's lunch." On the way there, Carol said, "Let's go to Goodwood, I love that restaurant!" We said, "No, let's go to Chef's Table. Your mom has never been there." When she walked in she was so shocked! She had no idea! It was a lot of fun and great surprise, with very yummy food!

Easter Weekend in Vegas

We had a great Easter weekend in Vegas! We died Easter eggs, set up an egg hunt for the kids, bought some fun makeup at MAC, went to Luv It Custard, Tyler tried on Grannybird's old glasses (ha ha looking good babe!), we went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner, and woke up at 5 a.m. for the annual family sunrise service with scones afterward. It was a fun weekend!

April Fools!!!

No, I'm not pregnant...April Fools!!! Ha ha ha I am such a trickster!

I came home from school one day and I was wearing that shirt. It's a cute one, but Tyler said it looked like maternity shirt and I actually agree. So I had this brilliant idea come into my head. I poofed out the front and I asked Tyler to take a picture of me and it looked real! So I was going to post it on my blog then as a joke, but I realized April Fools was coming up. I called my mom beforehand to warn her so she wouldn't freak out. Then I posted it....and all hell broke loose.

Okay, not really. But I did "fool" a couple of people. Amanda, thank you for making my joke so funny. I gotcha! It made my day. And Des, sorry I fooled you. I'm glad that you're pregnant!

I think Tyler has made me more of a tickster since I married him i.e. he jumps out at me from behind doors and walls, sneaks up on me on all fours crawling like an army man on the floor, and quite simply tries to scare the you-know-what out of me whenever possible. So, I've come up with some coping mechanisms and boy, does it feel good when I get him. If you can't beat them, sometimes you just give in and join them.

Yesterday Tyler called David Archuletta's phone number which was being tossed around casually on the radio and it got him because of course it wasn't his number. I was on campus and someone had pasted a "Push" sign on a door that you were really supposed to pull on. It got me. But, hey, it's all in the name of fun right?

Well, love you all! Thanks for endulging me!

Tyler's Motorcycle Accident

This was literally the scariest weekend of my life. I thought my husband was dead. This is the story...I was sitting on the couch watching TV on Saturday during the day. Walt comes into the apartment and says, "Have you heard?" I hadn't and so he told me that Tyler had been in a motrocycle accident. He didn't know if he was okay, the policeman that called him just said that he was at the emergency room. Tyler never wears his helmet (ARE YOU SERIOUS??!!) and so I of course thought that my husband would be dead shortly or that he was brain dead. I started bawling, got dressed and raced to the hospital. It was the scariest moment of my life. I got there and the crisis worker kept us updated and said that Tyler was talking and that he was coherent.
They had to take a CAT Scan and X-Rays but we could finally go back and see him after about 45 minutes. It sure was great to see my husband alive! It turns out he doesn't have any broken bones or brain damage. He should count his lucky stars because someone was watching over him. What happened was: He was on his way home from a meeting to eat lunch. The car in front of him slammed on her breaks and he didn't have enough time to react so he ran into the back of her car and got launched off his motorcycle. His leg got caught in the rear lights and a huge scoop of his leg was torn off. He was taken to the hospital, and he had to get a lot of stiches and tests, but now he is okay. The picture above is a little preview of how he's looking right now. I told him if he ever rides his motorcycle without a helmet, I will personally take a bat to his motorcycle and destroy it. Fair enough? I don't want to become a widow anytime soon.
