Chase and Maya Thayer's Wedding

Tyler's childhood friend Chase Thayer got married last night and Ty was one of the groomsmen. The wedding was beautiful and they are a wondeful couple! Congratulations!I love that I can wear 4 inch heels and still not be taller than my husband. :)Preceding this picture, Tyler told me he would never let me take a picture of just him again. I am mandatory in all of his pictures with him :)I might be biased, but I think Tyler was the most handsome one.
Maya looked beautiful. Congratulations Chase and Maya!

Lake Powell, GIrl's Night, Rodeo

Look at my cute new treasures! I'm hanging these precious little nuggets above my stove: I do love a good citrus. These babies make my kitchen look so fresh!
And I can't forget about my little African Violets. Yes please!
Saturday was a fabulous day. I made cream of wheat with toast (Ty's favorite), cleaned the inside of my car, layed out at the pool with Kim Taylor, went to get a pedicure, and went to CPK for lunch for a baby shower for a coworker of mine. That night, we went to the Strawberry Days Rodeo with Marc and Court. Of course we had to try the famous strawberries and cream, and they were delicious! We went to the carnival after the rodeo and it was closing! We were sad, but then this lady came walking around and gave us a bunch of candy apples. Don't worry, they weren't poison. We went over to Marc and Court's after to watch a scary movie. Apparently I am obsessed with scary movies lately. On Friday night, Ty and I got a snow cone, ate dinner at Bajio, then watched Shutter Island. Scary movies, what did I tell you? Sometimes....you just need a pedicure. (This picture has wierd shadows - sorry!)I made these delicious little coconut crusted chicken bites last week and had my mom and Kate over last night for dinner. Yummalicious. I served them with sweet and sour sauce. I made tilapia fish tacos last night. I do love to cook!
We went to Lake Powell a couple of weekends ago to clean the houseboat. It was busy, but worth it because we'll get to play on it all summer! We went surfing on the boat right before we left which I love and went on a two hour jet ski ride the first night. Ahhhh, summertime.
T went out of town two weeks ago Wed-Sat to take his priests to Lake Powell. Katelyn and I hiked the Y on Wednesday night, I repainted a little table that my mom got me to put in my entryway on Thursday, and on Friday my mom and Jocelyn and I went to dinner at Zupas then shopping. Katelyn slept over that night and then T came home the next day and we went to CPK for dinner. My mom highlighted my hair that same day, and this past week I got it cut. Ahh, three inches shorter feels great sometimes.

Catch up of the last couple weeks!

As always, the last couple weeks have been pretty darn good! Last weekend on Saturday night we went to build a fire again, this time in Provo canyon, and we did dutch oven cooking. Drew made the Chicken Gary (chicken dipped in seasoning and cooked in cream then served with rice) and I made the peach cobbler. Emily and Taylor brought the s'mores and the diet Coke that pretty much everyone is addicted to but Tyler and I :) It was soooo delish! Here is my dutch oven peach cobbler recipe:

Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler

- Two large cans peaches
- Cinnamon
- One box white cake mix
- One can Sprite or 7 Up
We use dutch oven liners which makes the clean up WAY easier. Put the dutch oven liner in then put the peaches in the bottom. Sprinkle cinnamon to taste. You can use other spices that you like, but I liked cinnamon a lot. Then sprinkle the white cake mix over the peaches and pour a can of Sprite on top. Heat up your brickets then put some on the bottom and cover the top of the dutch oven with them. It will take about 30-45 minutes to cook; just keep checking to see if the cake has been cooked on the top. Enjoy!

On Friday night, we went to eat at Burgers Supreme!I am OBSESSED with this place lately. I have never been one to go buy a hamburger because they are fattening, but apparently that doesn't matter these days because I have chosen to go here several times in the past few months! Yum yum yum. We went with Marc and Courtney and it was so fun to catch up. They went on a cruise so we hadn't seen them in a few weeks. We then went to the dollar theater and saw Alice in Wonderland which I totally loved. I'm sure there are a few of you out there that think it's the wierdest movie ever created (mom) but it has been a childhood favorite since I can remember! So naturally, I really liked the movie. My sister Jocelyn and I used to eat angel food cake and pretend it was the mushroom that the catepillar gave Alice. We would take a bite and pretend to grow big, and take another bite and pretend to shrink small. I always love to think about that funny memory!
Emily Jackson (my future sister-in-laws sister) and I have been going to the gym a lot these days! My body thanks me for it. We have been to power pump and turbo kickboxing at Gold's Gym almost every day and it is such a good workout. If you care to join us, you are more than welcome! I go to work, go to the gym, and repeat. Good life. My mom had surgery on her varicose veins last week so I brought her dinner from Los Hermanos, brought her some movies, and some of her favorite treats. We watched the Grey's Anatomy finale together on Thursday night and it was soooo good! I love that show. This past Monday we watched the season opened for the Bachelorette with Drew and Rach. I am addicted to that show as well.

This weekend Tyler and I went to eat at Crown Burger (guilty pleasure, I told you I'm addicted these days!) and then we went to see Iron Man 2 with his parents and I really liked it. And then there was Saturday, which was a perfect day in my book. It started out with sleeping in then making pancakes and eating them with Tyler. While the boys went golfing, Carol, Heather, the kids and I went to see Shrek and I loved it of course. I love all of the Shrek movies.

We then went to Nordstrom where I got these lovelies. It was in love at first sight.

Heather dropped me back off at my house where Tyler was working on our lawn. While he was taking a shower, I took a nice little nap on the couch. When I woke up, we went to the mall to do a few errands like get my ring cleaned and get Tyler's watch sized to him. We ran into our friends Kim and Dave at Cold Stone and chatted with them for a bit. We then went to Olive Garden where we were seated in the most lovely little romantic booth. Tyler got the the Tour of Italy and I got the Zuppa Toscana which is always so delicious. I kept telling Ty that I don't know how they get so much flavor in one little bite. I highly recommend it.

After dinner, we went to Blockbuster to get this movie. Tyler and I had listened to it as a book on tape while driving to Texas last summer, so we knew the story line. It was pretty good. And that, my friends, was an absolutely perfect day. Plus, knowing I don't have to work on Monday is a super bonus.

This morning I made stovetop kettle corn for the first time and it is to die for! I get the recipe from ourbestbites.com. It's a great recipe blog. The weather is beautiful outside for the first time in a while, so I'm going to go get ready for church and then be outside! xoxo

Timp Caves and a fun week!

Me, Ty, Jocelyn, Katelyn and my mom went to hike to Timp caves yesterday! It was a perfect day to do it because the weather was nice and cool. The caves are so cool! After we went to my favorite hamburger place, Burgers Supreme, and got delicious cheesburgers and fries. I came home and took a 2 and half hour nap and it was sooo nice! Ty and I went to see Letters to Juliet last night and it was pretty good. On Friday night I went over to the Parcells and we picked out the bridesmaid dresses for Rachel's wedding. We went to Nordstrom and found the shoes too, and then everyone went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner (my fave!). On Thursday night I took my mom to dinner at Outback Steakhouse for Mother's Day. She is the greatest mom and I am soooo lucky to have her in my life and also that she lives here now! On Monday and Tuesday, Emily and I went to classes at Gold's gym. I love their classes because they push you so hard. Rachel came too on Tuesday. Kayla Collin's had her baby boy and Tyler and I went to visit him and her on Tuesday and brought her dinner. Maxson, her little boy, is so adorable and he has so much hair! On Wednesday we went to dinner for Drew's birthday at the new place Cafe Paeson. The creator of Cafe Rio made this new restaurant. It's the same idea as Cafe Rio only Italian style. It was pretty good! Well, it's Sunday and I better go prepare my lesson for my little Sunbeams :)

Tinfoil dinners in the canyon!

We went up Hobble Creek Canyon last weekend and cooked the tin foil dinners we had made earlier. It was really fun! We also had s'mores of course. I love that the weather is getting a bit better so we can do fun things outside!
