Backyard Firepit!

Our garden is growing and growing and coming right along. It's so much fun and I feel like I mama watching her babies grow!

On Friday, Tyler and I didn't have plans which I love sometimes because then we can just play it by ear and do whatever we want. He had a gift card to Scheels that he won at the Bear River golf tournament. He got a new golf club. He's been going a lot of golfing lately at Fox Hollow because he can go for free since I work at Mozy. It's a great perk! We then went to Dillard's so I could shop the sale. I was looking at dishes for a bit (okay, longer than a bit. Like 30 minutes) and then I couldn't find Tyler. He had fallen asleep on one of the beds in the home section ha ha ha! After we left there we had the tastiest burrito at Freebirds. I had gone there years ago in Dallas but it was Tyler's first time. We then drove down to American Fork and got frozen yogurt at Farr's, our favorite. It was such a fun night with my "boyfriend" as I've been calling him lately.

The next day Tyler worked his booty off in the sweltering sun all day to finish our firepit. We had Mark and Courtney over for roasting hotdogs on our new firepit! We had chips, salad, potato salad and of course s'mores. It's so much to have that in our back yard to invite friends and family over! We can't wait to keep doing it all summer long.

Reward Style Night

Rachel, Emily and I went up to the Reward Style school night then went to dinner afterward at Happy Sumo. It was a fun night!

Strawberry Days Weekend

Tyler and I LOVE living in Pleasant Grove. We especially like Strawberry Days. We went to dinner at Costa Vida with my mom and Steve and Jocelyn and her date Daniel. After that we went to the rodeo with everyone plus Jamie, Bruce and their kids. I think the best part was those tasty strawberries! Yummy yummy yum.

The next morning I woke up and went to the gym, then we took our scooter down to the Pleasant Grove parade. We sat there and collected candy and had a good ol' time! After the parade we took our scooter to the PG carnival and walked around then went to Costa Vida for lunch. We are kind of obsessed with that place these days if you can't tell. That chicken salad has my heart! After lunch we came home to take a nap then went on a hike up to Battle Creek Falls. That night we showered and had Barry and Naomi over. We went on a walk and saw the Sperry's sitting on their driveway. Tyler's grandparents and them were friends up in Heber. They then offered to let us pick some cherries from their tree (we have been back several times since!) and had it with the chocolate cake that Naomi made. Yum! We love summer. Like a lot.

Tyler's Half Marathon Weekend

My handsome little devil ran yet another half marathon and I took pictures at the end again :) I met my mom there so that we could both cheer him on at the end. He did great! I'm so impressed that he has run so many marathons. After that, he wanted to help his dad finish so he and Drew jumped on a scooter to help give him moral support. He was running the full marathon and unfortunately didn't qualify for Boston like he wanted to, but he did a great job and beat his time from last year. While Ty was waiting for his dad, my mom and I went to the gym. She then dropped me off and we cheered for him at the finish line. After everyone cooled down, we went to eat breakfast at Magelby's Fresh. I got their pancakes and felt totally sick after eating them but it was worth it because they were SO GOOD.

That night we went to Kendra and Landon's kid's birthday party which was incredible. It was airplane themed and every last detail was thought out. The food and treat table was amazing. After that, we went to meet Oakley and Scott for the Orem Summerfest parade. We also went to the carnival and went down the slides with Scarlett and watched the fireworks. Looking back on it, I don't know how Tyler made it through such a big day! He is tough!

Girl's Camp

I am a Beehive adviser in our ward and I love it! We have some great girls. I was able to get away from work for three days to go to girl's camp up in Ephraim. My company gives 3 business days per year to do service and this was a great way to use it! It was a stake camp so we didn't actually camp this year. We stayed in apartment buildings. We had meetings at the stake center, scavenger hunts around campus, and did service by pulling weeds. We were tasked to go find someone to serve in the city and the couple that let use weed their yard was a great find because it was her birthday. The girl's really enjoyed serving. They also cleaned one of the Osmond brother's windows which they thought was cool and one of the girl's was hilarious and joked that she was never going to was her hands again.

We went swimming one day and everyone was jumping off the high dive and doing tricks. We had a devotional every night and I was so impressed with the Laurels from the stake in our group. It was a wonderful group of young women. I got to hang out a lot with my Beehives. One night my friend Kenzie and Laurel adviser cut off the tops of glow sticks and we sprayed them everywhere. They dry clear so it was as if if never happened. It was really cool and looked like we were in a galaxy! It was Becky's birthday while we were there so us leaders snuck away during one lunch and went to get pizza which was really tasty. We also went to visit the temple and then the next day I helped while the girl's did baptisms. I had never seen the Manti temple before so it was cool for me to see it! On the last night we built a fire in the woods nearby and had a testimony meeting which was great. I learned a lot about the girl's and strengthened my testimony. It was an awesome week and I'm glad I could go!
