Mom's 51st birthday

Mom turned 51 on September 11th and we had a great night! I bought 4 caramel apples to share with everyone for her “birthday cake” and bought her some balloons. Both of us love balloons, and I know she doesn’t love cake and loves caramel apples so I thought it would be great. Everyone loved them and most people admitted they didn’t like cake very much so it worked out! We met with Steve and his family at Bajio, then we walked around the Riverwoods for Chalk the Block. It was a fun evening getting to know Steve’s family better and enjoying the night. Happy birthday, mom! I hope I look as good as you when I’m 51!

New Orleans work trip

I went to New Orleans again for a work conference. Adam Nelson, my brother-in-law Casey’s brother, went with me. Before he got there I met a client for breakfast and another client for lunch. The food there is definitely delish! We got Cajun food and we walked around the French Quarter. It was VERY hot. We also drove through the Garden District and there were big, gorgeous Southern homes. Totally my style. We couldn’t leave without getting beignets from CafĂ© du Monde. Yum! We got to stay at the Ritz Carlton and it was ritzy. Imagine that!

Boating

On Friday a few weeks ago, Tyler and I had dinner at Paradise Bakery, got tickets for a movie then went to the Quilted Bear and walked around until the movie started. We found some funny pillow cases. I love that we can have fun doing anything together. The next morning we made pumpkin waffles. We watched Rachel and Drew’s dog, Dash, that weekend too and Tyler was so adorable with him. Tyler went outside and ate his breakfast with him and kept telling him that he was such a good dog. It kind of melted my heart a little bit! We went boating again with my mom, Steve, Tyler, Katelyn and Jeslie again and had a great time. Later that night we went back to my house and had a tasty dinner of fresh veggies from my garden and pasta, then my mom made cookies and we watched the BYU game.
