This was literally the scariest weekend of my life. I thought my husband was dead. This is the story...I was sitting on the couch watching TV on Saturday during the day. Walt comes into the apartment and says, "Have you heard?" I hadn't and so he told me that Tyler had been in a motrocycle accident. He didn't know if he was okay, the policeman that called him just said that he was at the emergency room. Tyler never wears his helmet (ARE YOU SERIOUS??!!) and so I of course thought that my husband would be dead shortly or that he was brain dead. I started bawling, got dressed and raced to the hospital. It was the scariest moment of my life. I got there and the crisis worker kept us updated and said that Tyler was talking and that he was coherent. They had to take a CAT Scan and X-Rays but we could finally go back and see him after about 45 minutes. It sure was great to see my husband alive! It turns out he doesn't have any broken bones or brain damage. He should count his lucky stars because someone was watching over him. What happened was: He was on his way home from a meeting to eat lunch. The car in front of him slammed on her breaks and he didn't have enough time to react so he ran into the back of her car and got launched off his motorcycle. His leg got caught in the rear lights and a huge scoop of his leg was torn off. He was taken to the hospital, and he had to get a lot of stiches and tests, but now he is okay. The picture above is a little preview of how he's looking right now. I told him if he ever rides his motorcycle without a helmet, I will personally take a bat to his motorcycle and destroy it. Fair enough? I don't want to become a widow anytime soon.

I'm glad he's fine. I hope he learned his lesson and starts wearing his helment. Zach wants to get a dirt bike and race this summer but now I'm scared...
Take care of your husband and MAKE him wear his helment.
Oh my gosh how scary!! I'm so glad he's ok! Dallas wants a motorcycle soo bad but I keep telling him there's no way he's getting one, and especially now after hearing this!
thats so scary. good for you for keeping that bat handy just in case he rides without a helmet again. I think they should change the utah law. love both of you!
Oh, my goodness! That is so scary!! I'm glad he is okay! I'm sorry you went so long without knowing how he was! That's awful. I can't even imagine. But he didn't even break a bone!!! That's wonderful! I hope recovery goes well.
Oh Jenica. That is so scary! I'm so glad he is ok. You must have been terrified. Hope you've been saying your gratitude prayers.
Ditto to what they said. I'm glad he's okay! What a horrible thing for both of you to have to go through. He sure as heck better wear his helmet from now on, or you and I will both beat him up. Deal? ;)
I can feel how scared you were. I had the same experience when my sister had an accident. She was hit by a reckless driver a day before her birthday. Good thing our lawyer immediately processed the necessary papers and coordinated with her insurance. Well, enough of my stories. I hope you didn't go through the same experience again from then 'til now. And keep reminding your husband to wear his helmet when he drives. :)

An accident can give you not only physical pain, but emotional and psychological struggle as well. Years have passed already and I believe he’s been more careful every time he hits the road. I hope he was able to file a claim and got compensated well for the accident.
