Valentine's Week 2015

I was able to throw a fun party at my house sponsored by a jewelry company called Rocksbox. I some invited local bloggers and shop owners. The details of the party:

Tablecloths: I bought plastic tablecloths and acrylic paint and painted "X's" and "O's" onto them.

Food: I bought lots of yummy food including hot jalepeno dip, hummus, crackers, cheese and ham, mozarella sticks, Daylight donuts (my favorite local donut shop), a vegetable tray, grapes, shrimp, kettle corn, cookies, strawberry lemonade and my friends Brittany and Valerie from Little Sous Chef made the most delicious desserts! My tip for a party is to get food that is easy to prepare the day of. I didn't want to be chopping and dicing and stressed on the day of my party so I got things that were easy to serve!

Candy bouquets: I bought WAY too much candy at the bulk part of Winco! Better to have too much than too little in the candy department, I say :) We used these little hearts or conversation hearts as the base, little wooden skewers as the stems and put on lots of candy as the "flowers." I bought heart ribbon at the dollar store to tie around the base! I also bought the cute heart plates at the dollar store that were about 1/5th of the price at another party store I checked and a LOT cuter! My friend Mitzi from Happy Confetti made the cute "XOXO" decoration.

Favorites game: I gave everyone a budget to bring their favorite thing. We had some awesome favorite things! My friend Annalisa from Oilo gave me this Revlon nail polish that has been on my nails for a solid week and hasn't chipped!! It claims to go 10 days and I believe it! I had everyone go around and introduce themselves then tell us about their favorite thing. After that they all drew a number and were abe to choose a favorite thing that someone else brought in that order. It was such blast! I love seeing everyone's favorite things.

It was such a fun evening spent with some really great women. Thanks to Rockbox and Tai Pan for sponsoring such a fun event!

On Valentine’s eve, I planned a fun surprise date for Tyler. My friends at work and I had been talking about fun date ideas so I booked a fun painting night at the Paint Mixer off of main street in Park City. I told him I had a surprise date planned for him and it almost killed him not to know what it was! He was guessing all week but I told him he would never be able to guess what I was going to do. He loves surprises but I think he mainly loves them because he is a problem solver and wants to solve the puzzle J On the way up I finally gave him enough clues that he got the answer in Heber. It was such a blast! We got there and put on our aprons then the instructor told us how many paint pumps to get on our pallets of each color. We sat down and started painting. The instructor would tell us what do then turn up the music and let us work for a little while. We had a blast and I would totally do it again.

Other highlights of the month include:

- Meeting Tyler at the grocery store and walking in to him with a Valentine's balloon for me on the cart :)
- Making Valentine's cookies with my Beehives
