The summer continues. Jeanette had a fun
baby shower. We went on a double date with her and Todd when we were
dating, they broke up and we ended up getting married, then a few years
later they started dating again and got married. They are now living in
California but she was here for her baby shower so it was fun to see
her. Kacie has since had her baby girl too!
We
played with Oakley and Scott, and Jenni and Mitch a lot this summer
too. We like to go up to Daybreak and have dinner and then play games at
Oak's. Jenni and Oakley are INTENSE when we play games so I always end
up breaking down in laughter because they take it so seriously. I love
them! Oakley and Scott had a sweet baby boy on September 11th. I got a
call that afternoon from Oakley saying that there was a large percentage
chance that he had down syndrome which they were not expecting. We went
up to the hospital the next day to see them meet Welles. He is a
perfect spirit and such an angel. The following week the tests confirmed
he does have Down Syndrome. A few weeks later he had to be hospitalized
because the doctors thought he had Hirschsprung's disease but after a
couple of days his symptoms went away. They have had a lot of challenges
lately but I know they will be amazing parents to Welles. I couldn't
think of anyone better. We love our Scarlett and now our Welles!
The
picture of the sunset is off of our back deck. I love to sit on our
deck in the summer and look at the lake. We have mountains on our front
and the lake to our back and it's stunning. I took a few long scooter
rides this summer exploring Pleasant Grove and I absolutely love living
here. We have horse pastures next to us with a barn and the coolest bike
trail. We love our new home, our new neighbors and our new ward. I'm in
the Beehives and the girls are darling. It's a lot easier than Primary!
Tyler
played on a softball team with some friends from our old neighborhood.
They won all of the games at the end of the season and ended up winning
the league championship for their level! Tyler cracked me up because he
was jumping up and down and yelling for joy when they won. He had such a
good time. We had dinner at Brick Oven a few weeks later with all of
the team member and their wives to celebrate the victory. Afterward, we
went to see Captain Phillips with Andrea and Zach Barber. The movie was
amazing!! We love going go to movies and see one practically every
weekend. We love to get the kettle corn at the Cinemark by University
Mall. I always tell people going to movies is my favorite hobby. I am really good at it :)
