Texas Trip!

One of the perks of my job is the fact that I get to go to Texas. I love me some Texas. Seriously, that was one of the reasons I wanted to accept this position was the fact that I had Texas in my territory. This past Sunday afternoon after church I flew out to San Antonio for a conference that I had to give 3 presentations at as well as man the booth. It was at the J.W. Marriott Hill Country Resort and it was a beautiful hotel. They had a water park with slides and lazy river plus several big pools. Ashley Shmutz was able to meet me with her three boys when I had some downtime and we caught up while floating down the lazy river. I love being able to see people I know when I’m traveling.

On Wednesday I took a client out to lunch then drove to Dallas. I picked my mom up at the airport and it was great to have with me! I am not a fan of staying in hotel by myself so it was perfect. While we were in Dallas and I wasn’t working (the main reason I came was to take a client to a soccer game on Friday night) we were able to see a lot of friends. On Wednesday night we went to Cheesecake Factory and Lynn came to hang out with us there. Then I left my mom and Lynn and picked up Desiree and Ashley and we met Kendra at Bedford Sno Ball. It brought back a ton of memories from high school since we went there all the time! I dropped off Des then on my way to drop off Ashley I got pulled over because I didn’t realize the speed limit was so slow. The cop kind of laughed when I told him where we had been and he let me off without a ticket. Phew!

The next morning we worked out, got some breakfast at Corner Bakery then got ready and went to Robyn’s house. We talked for a minute then went to lunch at a tasty Mexican food place that my mom loves for their guac. We dropped her off, then I went to visit a client and drop off some treats. After that we went shopping at Northeast Mall Dillard’s and Chris met us there with Teresa. I got some really cute dresses. After that we went to dinner at Cheesecake Factory again with Connie and Ashley then walked around Southlake Town Square then back to our hotel to chat. The next morning we worked out again then met Ashley, her two boys, Connie, and Chris at Torchy’s Tacos and stayed there talking for 4 hours! My mom and I went to Grapevine Mills afterward then I drove to Frisco to take my client to the soccer game while she had dinner with Connie and Steve and saw The Giver.

On Saturday morning we ordered an omelet and fruit for room service, worked out, then went shopping again. We bought Steve some shirts at Dillard’s then met Kim Heaton for lunch at Chik Fil A. We then went shopping at Steinmart and bought Connie and Steve a big ice cream cake. That evening we went over to their house and Andy had bought some really good chicken and steak fajita meet so he grilled that along with vegetables to make homemade salsa on the grill and we had a pool party/BBQ with their family along with Todd and Abby + Ashley and Bobby. After they left (Bobby took the kids home) we went to Target with Ashley and Connie in the Jeep and talked for a while when we got back. It was such a great trip!! I love relaxed trips like this where I can see friends while I work. Great combo J I am now sitting in the airport because my mom’s flight left at 6:10 am and mine doesn’t leave until 8:30 so I had some time. I’m excited to see Tyler, though! It’s been too long without my buddy.
