Wyoming Cabin

Katelyn met at our house and parked her car in our garage and we drove up on Friday night. We made a stop at the gas station in Heber and while the car was filling up, Tyler leaned in the car and said, “road trip! Go get some treats on me!” Katelyn immediately unclicked her seatbelt. It was funny J She got a smoothie and I got some gum. We met my mom and Steve at the high school basketball game. After the game (it was really good!) we went back to mom and Steve’s house where my mom had put in homemade bread and we made Zuppa Toscana. The next morning we woke up and drove to Wyoming. We stopped at this country store wear Tyler excitedly picked up a light for the bed of his truck. It’s camo and sticks to the side of the bed. We arrived at Chris’ cabin and it’s absolutely beautiful! We drove up the snowy path to the house and she had a delicious lunch ready for us after our tour of soup and homemade bread. After lunch we changed into our snow gear and went sledding down the long hill on her property. Tyler and Steve would come get us at the bottom on the snowmobiles and drop us off at the top. My mom and I went on the back of Steve and Tyler’s snowmobiles afterward for a bit then we all went inside where Chris prepared someone homemade French chocolate. It was delicious! Next we played some games in their great room next to the fire and the huge windows with the prettiest views. It was so picturesque. We had elk steaks for dinner and then after dinner we watched a movie with homemade popcorn. We were treated like royalty – Chris was the hostess with the mostess! The next day we went to church and it was pretty snowy so after church we left and had breakfast before we left. Elk sausage that Mark had hunted was on the menu. Around their cabin they have game on the walls that Mark has hunted and for Christmas, Chris tied a scarf around each of them! Too funny. After we ate we left for home and tried to stop to find the house that my grandpa grew up in but couldn’t find it. Chris sent us a picture later. We hung out at my mom and Steve’s for a few hours then drove home. It was such a nice weekend getaway!
