Utah in the Fall is gorgeous. I had been wanting to get up to Sundance for a few weeks and finally did on a Saturday with my mom and sisters. I was able to ride the ski lift without having to pay because my ski pass from last year was still working. I wish I would have used it more over the summer to go hiking up there! This summer went by so fast though with vacations and being busy on the weekends that it just got away from us too fast. The following day we went up there with my mom and grandpa. You have to soak it in while you can! We stopped by at Casey's cabin because we saw him riding one the family horses too. It's gorgeous!

Lake Powell trip 3
I can only describe this trip to Lake Powell as dreamy! Hardly anyone was on the lake, the water was completely glassy in
the morning and most of the day, and we found this new cove to stay at
which was great. Tyler and I were only there for two days because I had to get back to work since it was the end of the quarter but it was lovely. We would take the jet skis in the morning and drive all the way up the canyon. There was not a ripple in the water so it was cool to look over and watch Tyler riding his jet ski because it literally looked like he was riding on glass. The rock was reflecting perfectly into the water. When we left, quite a few things went wrong, however! Drew broke his ankle water skiing, the boat's belt broke and Katelin cut her hand and had to get stitches. Yikes!
Mary Poppins in St. George!
We drove to St. George to see Mary Poppins at the Tuacahn Theater and it was a really great production. I had never seen a play there before and I thought it was supercalefragelisticexpialidious! When we got into town we met Walt and Carol for dinner at Outback, dropped off our things at the Marriott and then headed to the play. It sprinkled on us a little bit throughout the play but luckily it wasn't terrible and I had Tyler's rain jacket. The next day we went to Chik-fil-A for breakfast then went food shopping for Lake Powell. We drove to Lake Powell and took out the houseboat. There was hardly anyone on the lake and the water was glassy!
Summer summer summer
The summer continues. Jeanette had a fun
baby shower. We went on a double date with her and Todd when we were
dating, they broke up and we ended up getting married, then a few years
later they started dating again and got married. They are now living in
California but she was here for her baby shower so it was fun to see
her. Kacie has since had her baby girl too!
We
played with Oakley and Scott, and Jenni and Mitch a lot this summer
too. We like to go up to Daybreak and have dinner and then play games at
Oak's. Jenni and Oakley are INTENSE when we play games so I always end
up breaking down in laughter because they take it so seriously. I love
them! Oakley and Scott had a sweet baby boy on September 11th. I got a
call that afternoon from Oakley saying that there was a large percentage
chance that he had down syndrome which they were not expecting. We went
up to the hospital the next day to see them meet Welles. He is a
perfect spirit and such an angel. The following week the tests confirmed
he does have Down Syndrome. A few weeks later he had to be hospitalized
because the doctors thought he had Hirschsprung's disease but after a
couple of days his symptoms went away. They have had a lot of challenges
lately but I know they will be amazing parents to Welles. I couldn't
think of anyone better. We love our Scarlett and now our Welles!
The
picture of the sunset is off of our back deck. I love to sit on our
deck in the summer and look at the lake. We have mountains on our front
and the lake to our back and it's stunning. I took a few long scooter
rides this summer exploring Pleasant Grove and I absolutely love living
here. We have horse pastures next to us with a barn and the coolest bike
trail. We love our new home, our new neighbors and our new ward. I'm in
the Beehives and the girls are darling. It's a lot easier than Primary!
Tyler
played on a softball team with some friends from our old neighborhood.
They won all of the games at the end of the season and ended up winning
the league championship for their level! Tyler cracked me up because he
was jumping up and down and yelling for joy when they won. He had such a
good time. We had dinner at Brick Oven a few weeks later with all of
the team member and their wives to celebrate the victory. Afterward, we
went to see Captain Phillips with Andrea and Zach Barber. The movie was
amazing!! We love going go to movies and see one practically every
weekend. We love to get the kettle corn at the Cinemark by University
Mall. I always tell people going to movies is my favorite hobby. I am really good at it :)

I'm back!
I decided instead of being such a binge blogger that I will try and update more regularly instead of 15 posts in one day to catch up. I think that if I say it then I will be held accountable. There are so many little things that go on each week that are so much fun to document and hard to remember if I haven't blogged for 3 months in a row. So, here goes! I do have a LOT to catch up on since we have been very busy. Work hard, play hard as I always say.
We took some friends boating one Saturday during the summer and the weather turned out to be great although later that day it was storming like no tomorrow. It was hard to surf at Utah Lake though because it was so shallow and the wave couldn't get big. It was so muddy at one point that I thought I was surfing in chocolate milk! I do like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, so I thought maybe my fantasy of indulging in his chocolate river was coming to fruition but it turns out it wasn't. A girl can dream. That night went to see Monsters University with Tyler's family for Paisley's birthday and it was darling. Afterward we had Cafe Rio which I can never complain about!
One of my friend's from college, Rachel Nelson, finally got married to her boyfriend of like 7 years! Oh, happy day. Her and Chris are darling. He is actually on the Olympic bobsled team and we are looking forward to supporting him in some of his competitions prior to the Olympics in Park City. The week before the wedding I went to Rachel's shower and it was fun to catch up. The night before her wedding one of my other good friends from college, Ashley Hovik, had an event at Soel Boutique for her jewelry line. Her company is amazingly inspiring as she hires at risk teens to earn money to go to college. It was a mini college reunion as I also got to see a fun friend Kelsey. At Rachel's wedding reception I also got to catch up with Karly. Oh, the BYU freshman days! Life was fun and life was crazy! It's fun to see where life takes everyone. It also kind of freaks me out that we are getting so old. We were freshman 8 years ago and the time has absolutely flown by.
We went with Walt and Carol on a massive bike ride one Saturday on the Murdoch Canal Trail by our house. I think the total miles biked were 35? We went to American Fork canyon, then down to Thanksgiving Point. We stopped at Kneaders to eat lunch. We absolutely love having the bike trail near our house.
